Had wonderful experience at Hoyts at Sylvia Park. We booked our seats previously and it was a breeze getting to the cinema. The Lux recliners were so comfortable and spacious. The theatre was spotless. Surround sound and lighting was perfect. Service was friendly and efficient. Food delivered was hot, fresh and delicious. Clean facility's. All and all making it a most enjoyable time.
Always an amazing experience when coming here, they always have awesome cups and popcorn buckets from recent movies and great drinks and snacks as well.nnThere is the normal cinema experience where you sit in one of their super large cinemas in the usual cinema seating or if you are feeling like a more luxurious experience they have a pricier but better option where you get a lounge to hang out in and can order drinks or food before you're movie even begins.nnThe only downside is, as in most normal public places, the toilets are never that good having wet sticky floors. Although they were cleaner than most cinemas ive been to.nnWe never had a bad experience coming here and definitely recommend trying one of their pricier but more luxurious experiences at least once.
My sister and I attended the 5:45pm screening of The Odyssey on the Xtreme screen. Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience for two reasons.nnFirstly, when we entered the cinema, it was clear it had not been cleaned after the previous session. There was popcorn all over multiple seats, wrappers on the seats and floor, and rubbish left in the drink holders. I've attached photos showing the condition of the cinema.nnSecondly, when the advertisements began, the screen was blurry. I initially assumed this might be because the advertisements weren't formatted for the Xtreme screen. However, when the movie started, the image was still badly out of focus.nnI went to speak to staff and was joined by another patron, who advised they had already reported the issue during the advertisements and had been told it would be fixed. Unfortunately, nothing had changed.nnWe reported the issue again and were told management would restart the movie. We asked several times for the film to be paused so that nobody would miss any of it while the problem was being resolved. Despite this, the movie continued playing. My sister remained in the theatre and confirmed that, even after it restarted, the screen was still blurry.nnI returned to let the staff know, and they advised management was continuing to work on the issue. Along with several other patrons who had also gone out to report the problem, I went back into the cinema. The movie played for another several minutes with no improvement. Eventually, we waited at the front of the cinema while a staff member communicated with management. The movie restarted again, but the image was still blurry. Finally, the film was paused, the projector settings appeared on the screen, and staff spent several minutes adjusting them before the picture was finally corrected.nnThe movie was only rewound by a few minutes rather than restarted from the beginning. As a result, those of us who had left the theatre to report the fault missed approximately the first 5–10 minutes of the film, while the patrons who remained inside had to sit through the opening scenes multiple times.nnOverall, it was an extremely disappointing experience. Paying $32, and $50+ for food/drink a medium popcorn itself was $14, for a premium ticket only to arrive at a dirty cinema and then spend the beginning of the film dealing with avoidable technical issues made for a very poor customer experience. This is the second time I've experienced significant projection issues at Hoyts Sylvia Park, and unfortunately it has left me with little confidence in returning.
Didn’t watch a movie here. I just came to buy a Michael Jackson cup. The place is big and clean. Staff were okay. The cup looks really cool. Prices are a bit high. The place wasn’t busy.
I went to watch the Michael Jackson movie and, unfortunately, the experience was disappointing.nnAs soon as we walked into Cinema 7, there was a strong smell of urine that remained throughout the entire movie. It was so unpleasant that I laid my jersey over the seat before sitting down because we couldn’t see the condition of the chairs.nnThe customer service also needs improvement. I asked two different staff members some simple questions about combo pricing and online bookings, but neither of them could answer. Staff should be familiar with the pricing and better informed to assist customers.nnThe biggest issue was with our allocated seats. We booked online, but when we arrived, our seats were already occupied. We spoke to a staff member, who told us to just sit anywhere because our seat numbers weren’t showing in the Apple Wallet tickets. We then contacted the person who purchased the tickets, who confirmed the correct seat numbers, but those seats were already taken. Since the cinema was packed, we ended up sitting in the very front row, even though those weren’t the seats we paid for. Watching the entire movie from the front left us with sore necks.nnThe movie itself was fantastic, but the cleanliness, customer service, and seating issues really took away from what should have been an enjoyable experience.
