Sudima Lake Rotorua

I was disappointed to find out the pool wasn't open and work was being done on one of the blocks of rooms. I was woken early the first morning so I mentioned it to the manager Dana, as the letter in the room had stated work wouldn't start til 08.00. She was very understanding when she realised I had booked this hotel because of the photos of the lovely pool on the web site. She offered me a pass to the Polynesian Spa to make up for this and took to time to talk to me over a coffee. She explained the work is to Earthquake strengthen the hotel.

The staff are amazing so accommodating and helpful. The location is great and there are rooms with a view of the lake. It's close to town and the government gardens. Short drive to the redwoods and blue and green lakes. Rooms are spacious and clean.

Our team stayed here for the NZ Entertainer of the Year. Exceptional service. Bar staff, dining room staff, front of house. Wonderful stay. Even opened up the bar for some of our team at midnight after the show for a wind down.

Lakeside Hotel with a lot of construction happening. If there wasn’t as much construction, it would’ve gotten a higher rating. They were as quiet as they could possibly be, but still the hammering and drilling and whatever yelling about kind of gets to you when you’re trying to sleep in.
