ibis Rotorua

Husband and I stayed here with our 5 year old. I am beyond impressed…. The facilities, service, rooms are all amazing for the price. Free parking, delicious breakfast with heaps of options, access to Novotel pool & gym etc. very happy with our stay! Thank you to the lovely staff here at Ibis Rotorua, you made our short family holiday wonderful.

The only thing to taint our first holiday in Rotorua was our stay at the Ibis Hotel. Check in is listed from 2 pm but when we arrived at 3 our room wasn't ready. It was suggested that we go away and come back later to give them time to make up the room, which we were told would be given priority. From rather number of Travellers waiting it was clear that we weren't the only ones being fed that line. We left and returned at 5 giving what we felt was a generous 2 hours for the problem to be rectified. On our return we were told that the room was still not ready and it was suggested that we go and come back again. We advised that we had already done that and had a booking that we needed to get changed for and he did finally prioritize us getting a room. The room was smaller than expected, but we accepted that. Unfortunately there were more issues. A card was in the room showing a Chrome Cast for watching our programmer was available, it wasn't so we attempted multiple times to call guest services but was unable to get through that night or the next morning, the lock in the toilet door was broken and the toilet is dripping into the pan. We wenf down to reception and reported the issues and the phone issue was sorted but nothing else. The booking made a big deal of the mini bar being extra, there is a fridge but it was empty? The only positive I have is that the bedding was clean and the bed is comfortable. There are great things to see and do in Rotorua, the Ibis isn't one of them.

We had a great stay at Ibis Rotorua. The breakfast buffet in the morning was excellent and such a nice way to start the day, and the free laundry was a huge bonus while traveling. The hotel was comfortable, well located, and exactly what we needed.

The hotel is in the center of the city and beside the lake. You can visit the city center by walking. The room view to the lake was so beautiful. House keeping is doing their job very well. Buffet breakfast is rich and delicious. The hotel has a free laundry service. Reception agents are very helpfull. We thank to all the staff who contributed our stay in a very good manner very much.

Excellent location to Eat Street and nightlife and then during the day close to the lake.nnWe had a city view room that looked straight into the novotel rooms. It's definitely not the people watching we like doing.nnRooms are small and compact. Not ideal to share with another as there isnt room to swing a rat let alone a cat.nnRooms provide what you need. If your just looking for somewhere to sleep, then will fit your needs.nnAlso broke the bed by just sitting on it. Flipped the bed and can see bed was already poorly repaired already. Because we didn't call it in at 1am, no discount given.nnOrdered breakfast as part of booking. However it was a good selection of the normal expected motel brekkie. For value, id skip and order from a café down the road so u get a great coffee.
