ibis Rotorua

10/10 staff and rooms. The two women that checked me in were so awesome, one even got me non-dairy milk for my coffee in the mornings, and they were very helpful in explaining different tours happening around town. They also upgraded me which was really nice, and explained that I could use the gym and facilities next-door at Novotel. I’ll definitely stay here again. It’s worth the price and exceeded my expectations. nnThe hotel kind of reminds me of a nice Marriott hotel, for comparison.

Great location and room was comfortable and clean. Very basic and a bit too expensive due to the ultra-marathon happening in the weekend. Had an issue with a whistling sound under the front door caused by air conditioning in the hallway. This was resolved very kindly, by staff by putting a towel at the base of the door. However there should be a more permanent fix put in place in the future.

I had a great 2 nights here. The staff were helpful at all times during my stay. The fresh farm milk was a unexpected bonus and was very nice with my cups of tea. The room had everything i needed for the stay. Having access to Novatel facilities was great. Dinner and breakfast was worth it for sure. I would stay here again in future.

Room and bed good.nWhen booking via booking.com made special request for gluten free breakfast. Only reason I booked was told my request was ok via reply after booking. They had gf weetbix. Asked for anything else and was offered refrigerated brown bread in the bag. Being Coeliac I couldn't use the toaster as covered with gluten crumbs, asked for it to be toasted. It came back barely toasted and cold. I couldn't use any of the toppings. Gave up. Asked for one breakfast to be refunded, told no, I could go next door to Novatel my partner had already eaten. Due to booking via booking.com no refund. Ibis is NOT safe for coeliacs. Disappointed.

Requested a room with a view, so beautiful! see photo Very comfortable bed. Loved the breakfast food and restaurant area was good. We enjoyed walks along the lakefront boardwalk and through the gardens. Lots of car parking and rooms are good, modern light fittings, good TV selection and staff were friendly. Bathroom was smaller than expected and could do with some updating but all good. No complaints.
