Novotel Rotorua Lakeside

Great location. Rooms dated with old carpet. Tub floor slippery with no tub mat so used another towel. Noisy fridge so unplugged it at night to sleep. Only powderred coffee in room and we Wanted to get coffee and toast but only buffet available.nWe went across the street to cafe to get some. Thermal pools good in hotel and were well monitored by staff. The tile floor to the showers are highly polished so are very slippery. Make sure you use their slippers. There are no handrails in hallway to showers. Location good to multiple food restaurants that compete for your business which makes them competitive in quality of food. Lake waterfront walkway very nice just out front door.

This is my second stay at this hotel, and it’s perfect for a relaxing getaway and an overall comfortable lifestyle experience.nnThe lobby made a great first impression being elegant and cozy, although I was a bit unsure about the cleanliness of the pillow covers. The lobby bathroom had a luxurious feel but could have been cleaner. With the buffet and the bar giving a relaxing vibe and feeling when next to the fire.nnEven though we waited a hour and a half, navigating to the rooms was easy and convenient with the elevators, but the room itself, while cozy, felt a bit cramped with all our bags. Despite that, I had no issues to do my stuff. The beds were incredibly comfortable, though I did experience some neck discomfort due to the pillows. The lakeside view from the bed was a nice touch, especially when lying near the window. The room was clean, but the bathroom wasn’t as spotless as I’d hoped.nnThe pool was enjoyable and not too crowded at times, which made for a great time. Relaxing in the spa was especially memorable, perfect for unwinding and sharing moments.nnOverall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone in the area. I’d happily return for another stay.

Lakefront location also close to shops and restaurants in down town.nSmall hot spring pools made an old Japanese man like me happy. Especially, one pool with 42 degree Celsius hot spring reminded me of Onsen in Japan, which soothed my travel fatigue.nAustere interior decor and aged facilities in bathroom but well-maintained. No regular coffee only instant coffee available, no bathrobe, no slippers.nA pleasant breakfast in the greenhouse-like dining room bathed in morning sunlight bacon should have been more crispy.

The rooms are unfortunately filthy... Dust in corners of the room, hair clumps, dirty glasses, dead spiders in the closet, black rings in the toilet.nnDon't expect a cleaning service or room refreshment, even for toilet paper you have to ask 4 times at the reception before you get it to the room..nnThe hotel is also old, so the facilities are not the best. But the dirtiness is what got me. Thank god the bed sheets looked clean!! :DnnThe staff was very nice and friendly. But that was the only positive side of this stay.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for two nights, and I wanted to provide some feedback regarding our experience.nnFirstly, we noticed that there is no dedicated parking space available for guests. While there is a drop-off parking area beside the hotel, we received a $65 ticket for parking there for just 15 minutes, which was quite unfair and unexpected. The hotel receptionist informed us that was to late.nnAdditionally, we found that the room was covered in dust, and the furniture appeared quite dated, which did not meet the expectations. Furthermore, there was no bottled water provided in the refrigerator. Despite ordering a bottle of water from our room, we want to pay for it, it was never delivered.nnOn a positive note, the staff were polite and friendly, which we truly appreciated. However, given the overall experience, we believe a higher standard of service is warranted.
