Novotel Rotorua Lakeside

The staff were super friendly. We loved the kid's playroom in the lobby. Such a nice touch and it proved super useful as multiple households traveling together. Our kids were occupied and happy while the adults waited for each other / worked out itineraries etc. The beds were very comfy. There was a bit of a faff with figuring out the parking situation. All in all, a solid 8.

We had a lovely weekend staying at the Novotel Rotorua. The staff were excellent and friendly. The room was very sunny, clean and comfortable with a lovely view of the lake. Car parking was a breeze and the location was perfect. A very short walk to eat street where there are plenty of places to eat. We had the breakfast buffet at the Novotel each morning and the food was very tasty with alot of things to choose from. We would definitely stay at the Novotel Rotorua again.

House keeping lady was very friendly and quickly changed the dirty sheets on one of our bed. She also kindly asked if we wanted to shift in a new room. I decided to say in the same room as we already put all of stuff here hence moving to another room seems waste of time. But she was very effcient and helpful.nUpon booking we booked a room with city view and there was no city view at all but view of bush. Also the room was not clean, bed sheets had hairs. Very disgusting. I would not book here aging even if they offer me a free room. Overall condition of the room was very poor, photos looks clean but in actual its very dirty.

4 starsnRestaurant buffetnThe food was absolutely yummy and beautifully presented. Prices are at the top end, but the quality justifies it. One area for improvement would be table service — staff didn’t check in to see if we wanted more drinks or refreshments, which we likely would have ordered. It also took a while for surrounding tables to be cleared and cleaned, which impacted the overall atmosphere. Still, a great experience and worth visiting!

I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel having read the reviews. We had a seamless check-in and we got to the room early. The room was a good size and was clean and comfortable. The facilities in the room were excellent. The restaurant offered nice buffet breakfast. We didn’t have dinner as it is also a buffet. The swimming pool was small but heated. We tried the geothermal pool which was a bit smelly.nFree car parking if you’re a member of the loyalty program.nThe hotel is very close to the main eatery’s and the promenade. Easy to walk around the city.
