Millennium Hotel Rotorua

Found via booking.com.nGood location.nComfy beds and clean rooms.nGood location for the local 'food street'.nGreat service from all the staff from the front desk right through to the lovely room servicing staff who would always greet you with a smile.nBe aware that Rotorua is on the edge of active thermal pools so there are some interesting smells around sometimes.nRecommended and would return.

We stayed at the Millennium Hotel for 2 days while visiting Rotorua. Our room was quite warm when we arrived and took some time to cool down with the AC, but overall it was comfortable. We stayed on the Club level, and the highlight was our Club Host Norrie Areli. He was gracious, attentive, and very welcoming. I looked forward to saying Hi to Norrie for our morning breakfasts and afternoon happy hours. The proximity of the Millennium to the Polynesian Spa was an added bonus!

Where to begin... it had so many issues. It was beautiful inside and out so I was not prepared for all the issues I encountered. The room phones would not put me through to any of the 3 lines...room service, front desk, and one more... it would ring, have an automated voicemail saying they were busy and to hold on then after awhile it would just go silent on all 3 lines on two different days. I needed ice for an injury my husband had so every day I had to go down to the front desk to get it. The heater in our room turned off in the night and we had a 3 am message left from December of someone breathing. I notifed the front desk no one offered to check out anything two separate days. The hot water pools were great! Food at breakfast was good. We found during our visit it was built on sacred land. We wouldn't have stayed there if we had known. It was the worst experience in 6 hotels that we stayed during our vacation. We will not be staying there again.

My wife and I spent the first part of our honeymoon here and we really enjoyed it. The breakfast was lovely, the service exceptional, the rooms were great and room service great. The team responded to a couple small issues tremendously well, one was what I assume to be a very rare bit of work in the hotel wing which resulted in the shower being out of service from about 11-2, by moving us upstairs to a better room as a way of acknowledging the inconvenience, my wife and i really appreciated this. Also one of the cleaners put some wet clothes on dry ones however they picked them up from our room and dried them for us which was nice. We got 20% off dinner and 6 complementry drinks due to me confusing the room number on the card with the wifi code, the reception said they need to fix an issue to prevent that. All in all great service, I think I think at the millennium attempts a good job and we would be happy to return. Thanks for a nice time.

My partner and I stayed at the Millennium Hotel Rotorua for two nights in December 2025, and it was a great base for exploring everything the area has to offer. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms, and although the hotel itself is a little older, the room felt modern and well refreshed. The bed was very comfortable, which made for a great night’s sleep.nnWe visited during peak season, so the on-site parking was busy at times, but there is plenty of free street parking around the property, which made it completely stress-free. The location is also very convenient, with an easy walk into town for dinner and activities. Overall, we’d definitely recommend staying here.
