Millennium Hotel Rotorua

Upon entering the presentation and location is easily five stars. The lobby is beautiful and you have a wonderful view. The rooms are however a very different story.nnIn both my friends and my room there were tears in the carpet. My room the shower didn't work. The handle just pulled out. My friends key card failed twice and had to be recorded in our two day stay. Overall I was a bit disappointed in something that was supposed to be a four star+ hotel. The rooms need a lot for focus.

Updating my review after returning 6 years later. Still a three star at best. Hotel is dated and charging a premium for a refurb is… well…nnBreakfast is okay. I work in the food industry and know it should be better but it is passable. The wait staff need some training as trying to find a table amongst the many dirty ones is tricky.nnGood side. Great view, good pillows no choice in fancy ones though, okay mattresses. And great location.

Stayed for a graduation with my family and everyone loved the hotel. We choose an unrenovated and we were all impressed by good value. The spa and pool is amazing! Great service and able to use spa changing rooms prior to room being ready. Bar was great!

Service from staff was absolutely amazing, everyone was soo helpful, especially the staff at the Nikau restaurant, chef made beautiful food, however rooms do need a bit of updating, at a certain time sky tv cut out and we weren't able to watch any rugby league games in our rooms or at the bar which was unfortunate and could only watch normal tv no cartoons for kids, on the second night there was a little spider in my bed. House keeping had come to clean the rooms but may not have made the bed properly, they may have just put the top blanket on but didn't thoroughly change sheets when pulling back the blankets sheets looked like it was still the same sheets I slept in, was crinkled and not made. We really enjoyed the warm pools for kids, spa, gym, sauna was not operating

Recently stayed in a newly refurbished room. Was like being in a brand new hotel room, everything was really new. Very comfortable, spacious, and quiet. Check in was great. Had dinner in the restaurant, very tasty lamb shanks, and even better desert. Breakfast the following morning was just as great, help yourself buffet, plenty of variety to choose from. hot and cold.nI usually stay in apartments, but this time I wanted to try something different, a new room and all food taken care of.nThis was the Best stay I have had in a hotel, ever.nI do hope to back next time I'm in that part of the country.nThanks to all.
