Pullman Rotorua

We had a wonderful stay at the Pullman. The staff were exceptional. They are helpful and genuine. The restaurant was fantastic. Every meal was delicious including the buffet on Christmas day which was a la carte quality. The view from the large windows in the room was lovely. Thank you for making our time ao enjoyable.

Experience was OK. Room was comfortable, not particulary big but ok. We really did not like the bathroom layout at all and probably would not return because of that. Thought having a tap in reception to fill the water carafe was pretty crap too as no water bottles in room.

All in all I was pretty disappointed and it didn’t really live up to what I was expecting.nnI normally stay at another hotel when I stay in Rotorua but I thought I would give it a try as I have stayed at the Pullman Hotel chain a number of times before in a lot of other cities and countries and always really enjoyed it.nnWhen you first pull up to the Hotel you don’t really know where to park. They had car parks out the front but they were all full so I parked down the street and walked back. Once I had checked in I asked about parking and they said I could do Valet parking which I did even though it was another $40.nnWhen I got up to the room it was pretty confusing as it wasn’t explained to me that there was one card for the lift and a different one for the room. I tried the initial key on the door a few times and when it didn’t open I went back down to reception only two find out there was a second key in the envelope.nnOnce inside the room it was very clean and tidy, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was great! And it has a mini bar which I always like.nnI didn’t eat at the restaurant as it was a bit pricey but being nice and central it was easy to find great food close by.nnThe next morning I when I woke I called for the car to be brought up and then showered and went down to check up. When I got there It seems that the valet had left my lights on or something as when I got in, my battery was flat and it wouldn’t start so I had to wait for the manager to come from his house with a jump pack to get me started. They wiped the valet charge for the inconvenience but I missed my morning meeting and put me behind for the day.nnAll in all it was just ok, and being more expensive than my normal Hotel I stay at even before you add in Valet parking. I probably won’t be back again as it was disappointing compared to my previous stays at the Pullman in other cities.

Great hotel in central Rotorua! We stayed 4 nights in December.nnThe room was spacious with incredible view of the town and surrounding area. The hotel was quiet, we did not hear other people or the road. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The location has many restaurants around and shops.nnThe main complain of the hotel from other reviews here is the bathroom. The rooms are like a studio design, the bathroom is in the room. So there is really no privacy if you are sharing the room. This room design works well for couples or a family with young kids. We did not have any issues with the layout but we understand how this could potentially be problematic depends on who you are travelling with.nnA lot of tour buses stay at this hotel, so breakfast can get crowded in mornings. However, if you go right when breakfast opens its minimal traffic. The breakfast here was fantastic, many hot food options. A lot of dietary restrictions accommodated. You can also order eggs, how you like them, to your table. Definitely get a breakfast package. Breakfast starts at 6:30am which works well for jetleg.nnThe one recommendation is don’t get the parking. The hotel parking is very pricy and it’s only valet, so someone else handling your car and need to wait for them to bring it out. There is free parking 5PM-9AM near the Novhotel and all the restaurants. Park there and walk the 2 minutes. Can also drop off items at hotel drop off zone and park at the free lot.nnBeyond that, the hotel is pretty simple. No room service but there is a restaurant in the lobby. We had good service during our stay.

Loved the location- it's close to cafes and the lake. Our room was big, clean spacious and had nice shampoo, conditioner and shower wash. Nice touch having fruit in the gym. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was so tasty - I got the snapper and had the caramel dessert - will definitely stay again.
