We recently spent my birthday in Rotorua and stayed at Pullman Rotorua NZ for the first time. Stayed for 3D/2N..nnThe room was spacious, stylish, and spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds and pillows. However, we found the location of the bathroom/toilet to be a bit strange, lacking privacy. Nevertheless, it didn't pose a significant issue for us.nnThe hotel staff were friendly and helpful, providing excellent service throughout our staynnOne thing to keep in mind is that the hotel offers valet parking for $49 per day, and street parking is also available but with time limits and costs.nnOverall, we had a fantastic and relaxing stay at Pullman Rotorua and would definitely return to this hotel in the future.
The hotel itself is modern and clean in the lobby area. Reception is staffed well and they checked us in quickly.nnThe room is spacious, we are a family with child so opted for the twin room two double beds. Beds are comfy and the A/C works well with no musty smell. Room clean on arrival. Has the standard facilities coffee/tea making and minibar which is not overpriced. The bathroomnLayout is just weird. You walk in to your room and the basin is open plan with foyer and the left side is a shower behind frosted glass, the other side is the toilet. Makes no sense for a family room as there is no privacy at all. It would be worse if you were sharing the room for a conference with a colleague.nnThe biggest let down was breakfast on our second to last morning. Apparently they took bookings for breakfast and there was no room for most hotel guests. We had to wait in the crowded lobby to which there was no seating due to half the other guests already on the “waiting list” and they were told to do the same by waiting in the lobby. To be honest I have never experienced this in years of travel at hotels worldwide. Disappointed. Once we got in everything was depleted down to the plates. Food stared to be brought in but there were over half the restaurant waiting it was consumed in minutes with nothing left once again. Some guests even left to eat elsewhere, us included.nnStayed here 3 nights, for central Rotorua it is probably your best hotel as the others are way below standard of 3 star. It is handy to every thing like restaurants so location wise is great for a first time visitor.
Staff were amazing, super helpful. Room was great spacious view over the city bath was deep for the taller person easy to stretch out. Shower was rad, valet parking was awesome drop the car off hand the keys over to the front desk and it’s done Will be coming back for sure. Great location close to the spa, gardens, eat street and lake. Massage eden was really good too which is in the hotel too.
Giving them a blunt 2 star for a number of reasons…n- No parking available at the hotel - upon arrival to check in you can park in their “allocated “ parking spot where its max 5min only once checked in you would need to park off street or consider their $49per day Valet parkingexpensive!nn-Upon checking non of the workers greeted me, i stood in line waiting to be served however, the workers seemed to be pretty busy though one desk was free he ended up assisting a customer who was there already… Given that this happened at least “We wont be too long, or hello sorry about the wait” would have made a difference . Ontop of that though they were busy staff assisting another staff could have said the same thing…nn-My wife and I decided to book the Superior room with the city view, this was great however the room was meant for people with disabilities… Funnily enough after checking out I decided to check our reservation and it said that we would have a rain shower head , which in this case we didn’t our room did not match what was booked!!!nn- The shower drain had hair in-there from the previous stay unfortunately i didn’t take any photos due to the fact it was disgusting .nn-Views of the city was decent however there is a deck sort of thing going around that level which prevents you from seeing the lower parts of the city….nn-Other than that, the bed was comfortable location to everything is pretty goodnnI wouldn’t classify this hotel as 5 Star especially for the price ,i have stayed at hotels with 4 stars or even 5 that offer better service and quality . The room quality was very disappointing we didn’t get what we wanted.nBy the way this was also our getaway as a newmarried couple…nnWouldn’t recommend this hotel if you are staying in Rotorua
Was here for night, transiting through Rotorua before we move on to other areas in the north island. The hotel location is rather central and is accessible to the lake nearby. Like others mentioned, the room design is rather odd with an open concept toilet. It's ok if you're on your own or with your partner, but certainly not convenient if you're with friends. Drinking water is also not readily available in the room, which I expected as a necessity in a 5 star hotel. The staff told me I had to fill up the carafe myself at the lobby or drink from the tap. This really wasn't the best experience for me as I'd traveled some distance prior to check in and simply wanted a sip of water when I entered the room.
