I moved to the Shore around a year ago and have tried a couple of vets to really find the best place for my cat. I'm so grateful to have found the team at Onewa Vets, despite the stressful circumstances.nnI noticed something off with my cat on Wednesday and called Onewa Vets for an opinion. On further observation, we discovered he might have a blocked bladder and he was brought in for an urgent appointment, which resulted in him being admitted for unblocking, and an overnight hospital stay at ARC, then back them in the morning for further monitoring before he came back home with me on Thursday. Recovery was going well but I was a bit concerned about his limp tail which I wasn't sure was an expected side effect of the procedure or not, so I called them again this morning. Again, they squeezed him in because of the potential risk and we now have a good plan for the next couple of weeks to monitor the recovery.nnThroughout the entire process, I've been so impressed by the level of service provided by all the staff I interacted with.nnDr Habin and Dr Celine are both standouts in terms of their knowledge, being able to explain things thoroughly and simply and their warmth. They both really took the time to make sure I was comfortable with what the options are.nnAlso a massive thank you to the vet nurses and receptionist staff for being so friendly and attentive, both at the clinic and when calling me to give me updates / answer my concerns. In particular Hannah, Donald, Hope & Grace and anyone else I missed.nnHighly recommend the team at Onewa Vets!
I recently took my 3-year-old male Flemish giant rabbit, Muffin, to Dr. Oliver for neutering, vaccination, and a check-up. The entire journey for my bunny has been incredible, and the surgery went smoothly.nnJust a few hours after returning home, Muffin was already doing very well, especially with the honey-flavored painkillers. Now, 24 hours later, he's fully recovered and back to his normal self.nnThe communication with the team regarding bookings and aftercare was clear and easy to understand. I've been spreading the word about this amazing experience to all my family and friends with pets, especially rabbits.nnThank you so much again for all your hard work! Please keep it up nnAmy, Jarryd & Muffin
We've been treating our cat who has FIP since roughly August 2023.nnDr Harbin Choi has been absolutely outstanding. She's gone the extra mile by consulting specialists, both here in NZ and internationally to ensure our little boy gets the right treatment. We couldn't have asked for a better vet through this challenging time.nnIf your cat has FIP Dr Harbin is the vet to see.nnThe staff have been kind and professional. Definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Awesome caring clinic. They take the time to really look after your animals. One of my cats loves going for her check ups, and the other one doesn't like people, but hasn't ever hissed at anyone there, so it's a five star from them.
I recently had a complicated issue with my first time silkytzu mummy. After a long labour she gave birth for three beautiful and strong pups. Unfortunately due to exhaustion and pain new mom got confused about her toy dogs and real pups. She used to treat her toy dogs after each heat cycle as her litter. And she does it now too over the alive pups, who she think will hurt her fake rubber pups. The staffs were absolutely amaizing, go back and forth to treat us in this very unique situation. Specially wanna thanks for all of you, Sally, Habim -the only names I know. Sorry about that.
