I love Albany Vet Hospital - always kind and professional. I’ve since moved from the shore but I’ll always bring my dogs to them!

Nice people, but lack the skills/competence to provide medical care. Prescription costs are exorbitant, test costs are exorbitant, and their business model is an overexuberance to perform excessive tests which they lack the skill to execute. After 13 years of regular check ups my cat now has a medical condition requiring ongoing care. After a botched procedure that was traumatic for my cat, I've lost confidence they can provide quality care, or fair pricing.nnThere was no follow up by them for the botched procedure, after which I walked away. Suggests they are familiar a with losing clients and not concerned.nnAlso aware of my friends experience - they missed a rotting tooth, and missed liver cancer yellow roof of mouth at check up/providing flu vax #1. Two weeks later after moving town a new vet picked it up straight away in checks before administering flu vax booster. The cat was terminally unwell, and if detected by Albany Vets would not have been put through the stress of moving from North Is to South Is!

Always a stress free visit when we bring our dog in for his vaccinations and check ups. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I couldn’t imagine going to another vet.

We were sending my son's cat over to Melbourne recently and there was some confusion with the NZ Government MPI form required as vet had ticked the wrong box. Luckily Karen, the manager was there on Monday morning and knew the process for pets getting into Australia so she saved the day and Scooter flew out as scheduled the next day. If you're relocating and taking your pets overseas just make sure the documentation is all correct and no photos for copies or you could have issues with customs on the other side.
