Norman and I have been consistently going to VSA physio for over 5 and a half years. We have also been there for some specialist visits and have pretty much seen every veterinary person at the clinic. The physio staff here are like a second family to Norm. Everyone is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, considerate and treat my dog/s so well.nnThank you to Ashley, Hannah, Rachael and Aneta for all your treatment, support and guidance for my Norm.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to the entire VSA team. Everyone here is incredibly kind and compassionate. I especially want to thank Dr. Weng for providing my dog with the utmost care and comfort in his final moments. She explained every treatment step in detail and supported us through an incredibly difficult time. Although my dog eventually passed away, I truly believe the doctors did everything they could. They gave him the best possible care and love at the end of his life. Thank you, VSA team, from the bottom of my heart.
We took our boxer in for a consult regarding a large tumour and were met with nothing but kindness and professionalism. The vet was friendly, compassionate, and provided clear, thorough information that allowed us to make an informed decision. When we collected her after being held for review, the vet again took the time to explain the odds and answer our questions. Throughout the entire process, she was considerate of our emotions while still being honest and factual, helping us do what was best for our fur baby. We are truly grateful for the care and support we received.
This practice is not worthy of even a one star rating. Perhaps the staff during the daytime are more kind and compassionate in contrast to their office manager and the inexperienced vets I have met with.nnI am furthermore significantly dismayed by my vets endorsement of VSA in Mt Wellington. This so called specialist veterinary clinic is anything but friendly, kind and empathetic towards your needs. At every stage of my patient visit - I was asked if I could afford the treatment and they wanted me to sign to verify I would pay for any treatment required, Fine no problem with that - but the way they went about it - treating me like some kind of welfare individual - looking for a handout.nMore worrisome is that when the vet initially saw my dog I clearly advised her on numerous occasions that my dog had eaten some bad smelling chicken breast, “oh no it’s not that, I was constantly told by the vet and the succession of nurses and other vets overseeing his care. In the end I was told I had to leave because they had other bookings coming in and needed the rooms for the visits.nnAs I was heading out , I advised the office manager- “I see this practice only cares about our money - not the welfare of our animals” . The office manager an unattractive woman was terribly unkind and directly responded by saying “we are not a charity you know”, a statement which shocked me to my core. My response has been one of shock and trauma after what I endured at this practice - they had suggested I euthanise my wee dog, but I didn’t want to do that.nnAfter enduring this horrendous ordeal - I took my dog to a well known vet in Papatoetoe - they diagnosed my dog with gastrointestinal issues and had him under observation for about four hours. He fully recovered and has no ongoing issues.nnSo …I was right in saying what he had eaten had caused his breathing to become exasperated, but I was not listened to- instead they asked me to sign and agree to getting $600 worth of bloods done, why? Because this vet has a standard charge scheme to ensure they obtain top dollar for treatment of our beloved companions.nnThe Veterinary Council of NZ needs to step in and look at this particular practice for its shocking treatment of their human clients and animal patients.nnThe welfare of both is paramount in Veterinary care and has been sadly neglected by overnight staff- who are only skilled in asking for treatment that our animals don’t need and not seeking solutions. I am looking at legal redress for the intolerable conditions I encountered.
Had to use the pet hospital twice, first time was terrible, only because there was nothing they could do. The care they gave was faultless and i was given as much time to grieve with my boy as i needed. They gave me keep sakes of his paws and nose which i then tatooed on. My 2nd trip was amazing got everything i needed in a timely mannor was there about an hour for bloods check up and discharge.. great place with great staff too
