North West Medical Centre

Attended as an accident patient on the weekend and was very well treated in a timely fashion by all staff including receptionist, nurse and doctor.nI am very pleased and delighted with the outcome and feel that all the medical staff took my injuries seriously and with great concern.nnI used this facility since my own practice was closed for the weekend but if I was looking to enrol in a medical centre I would certainly choose NW Medical.

I had the best experience at North West Medical Centre’s Hobsonville branch — hands down the best clinic I’ve been to in New Zealand!nnMy first visit was when I needed urgent care for an injury after a fall. My own GP couldn’t fit me in because they were too full. From the moment I walked into North West Medical, I was impressed by the high-end feel of the clinic. Even as a walk-in, I didn’t have to wait long at all. They even had crutches and an Achilles boot available — items you’d usually need to go to an emergency room or hospital for.nnMy second experience was with my son, who had phimosis. Our GP referred us to Starship Hospital, where we waited nearly six hours to see a doctor, only to be sent home with some medicine that didn’t help at all. The next day, desperate for a solution, we returned to North West Medical Centre and saw Dr. Niku apologies if I remember the name incorrectly, he’s from South Africa — he was an absolute lifesaver! He immediately understood the issue and even manually pushed back the fluid, which helped immensely.nnToday, we went back to get some medication and a medical certificate. This time, we saw Dr. Sarah, who was also incredibly nice and professional! The receptionists were friendly and welcoming as well.nnThis is just my personal experience, but I genuinely wish they’d open branches all over NZ — especially in Albany, as I came all the way from there just to visit this clinic!

Took my child here today as a casual patient when our own GP had a 2 hr wait in their urgent care queue and their next scheduled appointment was in 2 weeks. We were the only patients in the waiting room, so were initially delighted, even if there was a hefty casual patient fee.nInstead we got to sit around for 20 min watching as the doctor, clinic manager, and others debated how to mount an iPad on a glass wall. My child was visibly uncomfortable, having coughing paroxysms, and yet no one showed any sense of urgency to triage her, let alone get her seen by the doctor. Again, there was NO ONE ELSE in the entire facility, other than staff.nHint: maybe deal with the ONE paying patient you have in the room before worrying about how to mount an iPad to register all the nonexistent patients you hope to attract.nIf I felt that they were doing their best to see us in a timely fashion, even if it had taken twice the time, I would be giving them 5 stars. But they made it clear we were expected to wait on their convenience while they dawdled over a matter that wasn't iin the least time-critical.nI didn't expect them to drop everything when we walked in, but debating mounting screws right in front of us while we are waiting to be seen makes me highly unimpressed with their sense of priorities.nI had asked about switching to this practice when we first walked in, but I walked out incredibly dissatisfied. If this is the level of customer service we can expect when they have no patients, what is going to happen to us when they get busy?

Sarah, was great when I had my first consultation with her, and it was good to see she had at least looked at my medical records,when I went in.nThe staff there are so helpful, and smilely.nShame about the decor. It was like stepping into a fridge.nIts not welcoming, or calming ,no way can I sit on those plastic chairs.Although there was a more comfortable chair, when I went back

Just want to complement how amazing the nurse and doctor we had tonight were for my son sorry I can’t remember your names but we are so grateful for the love and kindness you showed him as well as how thorough you both were in checking him over and ensuring he was okay. Couldn’t recommend this medical centre enough!!
