I would like to make a complaint about the doctor I seen today for my US Veterans Affairs exam. He was 20 minutes late calling me back, and had no idea why I was there and hadn’t reviewed my previous medical history assuming the VA sent records for review. He did a very basic review, asked me what I was claiming and how many children I had and where I was stationed. He briefly asked about my foot surgery. He never asked to look at my feet to examine my flat feet, and there was no physical exam of me. He complained about the number of things I had claimed through the VA saying he doesn’t have time, he has another patient waiting and more things to do. The appointment lasted 20 minutes, he said if the VA needs more they can just send me back. He said it was a 30 minute appointment slot it should’ve been much longer for my review. He has no regard for the amount of money this travel cost the VA, or the fact I had to take a leave day from work & travel for 13 hours! He lacked empathy, compassion and had absolutely no respect or regard for the distance I had to travel for this appointment even though the first thing I did was greet him with a smile saying “Hi Doctor, I’ve traveled a long way to see you!” I should never leave an appointment crying because a doctor didn’t care. My VA claim was submitted back in June 2024, this appointment was extremely important to me as it would ultimately determine if I can afford to seek further medical care for these issues or not.nnWhile it might be a new process for the doctor and probably frustrating as it’s a lot to do I would like to reiterate that his bedside manner was poor, his attitude was poor, & he lacked compassion and empathy. If this is how he usually is I dread to think what he’s like on a bad day.
If I could give this a rating of zero, I would. My partner and I have been enrolled here for some time, and the majority of our appointments have resulted in significant disappointment. It is evident that the primary focus of this clinic is making money rather than patient care. For the fees charged, one would reasonably expect at least competent and a respectful service.nnWhile a few members of the reception staff appear courteous, many have demonstrated rudeness and an unmistakably judgmental demeanor. We have felt repeatedly that we were treated differently—perhaps even unfairly—due to not resembling the predominant demographic of this clinic.nnA particularly distressing incident occurred when I brought my 12month old son in to be seen during the weekend. There was no queue at the time, and after paying $45 for my son which I was not aware of as I didnt recieve an email or anything about the change in fees for walk ins I was told that we would be seen next. However, despite this assurance, we were left waiting for over two hours. As time passed, other patients who arrived well after us—and without appointments—were promptly checked in and seen by staff. Meanwhile, I sat with a visibly ill and increasingly distressed toddler.nnWhen I inquired about the delay, I was told that they are currently with someone and that we would be seen shortly. After about an hour and a half, a staff member offered a half a*ssed apology and said she would call us next. Nevertheless, she subsequently took in another newly arrived patient. Even after completing that session and seeing my child's discomfort, she again skipped us and checked in someone else who had just arrived.nnIt became abundantly clear that we were being systematically overlooked, and this was not an isolated experience. Ultimately, I requested a refund and left. This situation is one of many that have led us to feel discriminated against at Northcare, seemingly due to our differing appearance from the majority of their clientele.nnDo better Northcare. All we ask is to be treated with dignity and care, rather than being viewed merely as a source of revenue.
I have had an amazing booking experience with Emma at reception. She is a wonderful person who understood my situation with 2 sick kids. Thank you so much.
I’d like to extend a special thank you to the nurse, Brenda, who truly saved me from what could have been a nightmare after my Australian immigration medical exam. I also want to thank all the lovely staff—except for the doctor who assisted during my appointment.nnWhile I’ve had positive experiences with NorthCare in the past, I wouldn’t choose to see the same panel physician again based on this recent experience.
Dr Peter Boot is failing your organisation. His arrogance and complete lack of empathy were both shocking and infuriating. We came to get our child the treatment they need and to get them home for Easter - not to sit through a lecture on math equations and to be prescribed antibiotics that caused our child to spew everywhere.nnConsider taking an empathy course or two, Pete. Maybe then you’ll learn to read a room and realise not every situation revolves around your perspective.nnNgā mihi nui to the staff that provided us with fantastic help and support today, and during previous visits. Get a grip, Peter - you're embarrassing your lovely colleagues.
