A little over a week ago, my husband had a heart attack. At the time, we didn't know it. We walked into the emergency unit, and he was immediately admitted after they heard that he had chest pains.nI can not say enough good things about this hospital and its staff. Absolutely everywhere and he was moved around quite a bit, he was treated with dignity and respect. The rooms and bathrooms were immaculate. The staff was genuinely friendly, sympathetic, and caring.nThank you so much to the porters, cleaners, nurses, and doctors.nComing from a 3rd world country South Africa, we were both blown away by the level of care received by my husband.nI understand that others did not have the same experience as us, but I can not, in all fairness, give this hospital anything less than 5 stars.
Chucked in a hallway and not spoken to for two hours despite having a life threatening condition. Told I would get a room, never got a room, watched others go in and out of spots in the room. Worst night I've ever had in a hospital.nnUpdate. I was told I would get a room the next day but I'm actually being left in the hallway for a second night despite an alarming find to my diagnosis. No nurses have reached out to me for help despite me getting up and asking to talk about things I should be doing.nnOne nurse overheard me asking a nurse for food because I was hungry. The nurse I asked said there was no food. Another nurse overheard and helped me get food.
Just to thank all from the Breast Clinic and Surgical Team for your great care, patience and successful outcome.nI contacted your Clinic after discovering a lump and was very impressed with the quick response for the necessary procedures and subsequent urgent surgery.nAll staff at the Breast Clinic including Ann Norris who gave personal advice and support and the Surgery Team, where Surgeon Kate explained the imminent procedure and my rights which gave me confidence.nI am very grateful for their professional and personal approach and highly recommend the Surgical Wing of North Shore Hospital.nJanis
My recent visit to North Shore Hospital left me with mixed feelings. While the staff at the Emergency Department were friendly and easygoing, the persistently long wait times remain a concerning issue within the New Zealand health system.nnI was referred to another medical centre due to the extended wait times at the ED department. Despite the warm demeanour of the staff, addressing the ongoing wait time challenge would significantly improve the overall patient experience.
North shore nurses were friendly and made me feel at ease while I was induced on the 01.11.2024 where I had my beautiful baby girl, thank you. How ever upon leaving that night 01.11.2024 around 7pm we were told by the nurse when we leave we can press the buzzer on way out and get our parking for free and mention we came from the maternity ward, the parking warden security lady who we spoke to through the buzzer said that's incorrect and dsnt work like that, who told you that and got our details, kept going on and must of heard baby crying in the back ground and said il let it pass this time but next time you will have to pay, and was so rude to us with a bad attitude, we didn't expect free parking but nurse was the one to tell us and not to worry about the parking, just lucky this rude woman didn't say it to some couple who had a traumatic experience with the birth of there child could have flipped them over the edge. She needs to be retrained and be more professional, definitely left a sour taste would have given a one star if it weren't for the lovely nurses. I mean who wants to deal with that woman when you just given birth that day and leaving the hospital trying to get to the birthing unit disgusting behavior.
