My recent visit to North Shore Hospital left me with mixed feelings. While the staff at the Emergency Department were friendly and easygoing, the persistently long wait times remain a concerning issue within the New Zealand health system.nnI was referred to another medical centre due to the extended wait times at the ED department. Despite the warm demeanour of the staff, addressing the ongoing wait time challenge would significantly improve the overall patient experience.
The design is quite impressive, meeting all safety and other necessary requirements. When I last visited in 2002, most of what’s now new buildings used to be grassy areas with cows and cafes, providing a delightful sight from the top level. The hospital is well-organized, surpassing the standards of Auckland city. There’s ample parking with wheelchair access, clear signage and guides, and conveniently located bus stations near the entry. The paid parking lots are spacious, and there’s a variety of food options and coffee shops with reasonable prices and facilities for people with disabilities.
On 6th April I had to go to the emergency part of North Shore Hospital as I had a bad injury on my arm. Suffice to say it was attended to very quickly because of my age and because the injury needed fast attention. The nurse who saw me did a wonderful job. All the staff did their best for others there too.nOther of my family members had to wait for a few hours to be attended to when they went. But remember you will be looked after very quickly if it's an EMERGENCY.
Thank you for the surgery today. I feel a huge relief has been lifted. The nurses were very helpful and supportive, and the surgeon was informative throughout the whole surgery.
I want to say I was pleasantly surprised with how good my experience was in this hospital. Staff are so caring and kind. Big thanks to nurse Danny in Surgical ED department . Many countries don't have this service for free they can only dream about what we have. North Shore hospital thank you
