I feel incredibly fortunate to have had my surgery at Southern Cross Brightside Hospital.nnWhile the parking area was a little limited, that was quickly forgotten the moment I walked through the doors. From the very beginning, I felt genuinely welcomed and cared for, almost like a VIP.nnThe staff were attentive and thorough, carefully checking on me before surgery and continuing to provide outstanding care afterwards. The nurses regularly came to see how I was feeling, making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed before I even had to ask.nnI stayed in a private room, which was clean,comfortable, and very peaceful. It made a huge difference to my recovery experience. The hospital also made visitors feel welcome and comfortable, which meant a lot to both me and my family.nnThe professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail shown by everyone at Southern Cross Brightside Hospital exceeded my expectations. I am truly grateful for the care I received and would highly recommend this hospital to anyone needing surgery or medical treatment.nnThank you to the entire team for making what could have been a stressful experience feel safe, comfortable, and positive.

Truly Exceptional Care and Results at Brightside Hospital!nnI recently had a total hip replacement at Brightside Hospital in Auckland, and I couldn't be happier with the entire experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were friendly, genuinely caring, and absolutely amazing.nnI was incredibly lucky to have the procedure done by the brilliant team of Dr. Michael Flint and Dr. Matt McGill. They are absolutely top-notch professionals, and the results are astounding—I was up and walking around just three hours after the surgery!nnThe exceptional care continued throughout my recovery. A huge thank you to the recovery nurses, Brook and Andrea, and the physio, Liza, who were all terrific and provided such encouraging support.nnOn top of the incredible medical treatment, the food was excellent, which made the stay even better! I highly, highly recommend Brightside Hospital and their wonderful team. Thank you for a truly positive and successful outcome.

A fantastic experience getting a hip replacement at brightside. It wasn’t something I particularly was looking forward to, but the surgical team, Michael Flint, Matt McGee and Co did a great job. I’m walking around on crutches the following day. The hospital staff and nurses were so friendly and helpful. Couldn’t ask for more. And to top things off the food was super delicious. I might just pop by for another one of those lamb rumps. Thanks for your care team.

Thank you to all staff at Brightside Hospital Auckland .Starting from entering the reception area to all nursing and any staff who looked after me. Best you could ever ask for in a hospital stay. The meals are restaurant quality. Thank you again

Extremely disappointed after over 10 years with Southern Cross.nnI was assured by their staff over the phone in April 2025 that my UltraCare policy could be placed on hold while I moved overseas — only to later be told the suspension was never approved, without any follow-up or phone call.nnBased on the staff’s verbal confirmation, I made financial plans assuming the policy was on suspension. Southern Cross then demanded I pay over $5,700 in “arrears” for a period I believed was on hold. Their reasoning? Two small GP claims submitted automatically by our clinic — totalling just $94.nnI was never told these claims would invalidate the suspension, and we didn’t submit them ourselves.nnSouthern Cross now refuses to take responsibility for giving me misleading information, even though they’ve admitted communication “could have been clearer” and that their staff mishandled parts of the case.nnAfter 10+ years of loyalty on their highest plan, I expected better. This experience has been incredibly stressful and financially damaging.nnI’ve had to escalate the matter to the Insurance & Financial Services Ombudsman to get fair treatment.nnI can no longer trust Southern Cross to stand behind their own words or take care of their members.
