Waitakere Hospital

I recently went into the Surgical unit for a minor operation including an overnight stay.nAll of the staff were brilliant, the surgeon John Jarvis was a true master and everything about the experience was first class.nThe overnight care and the meals were superb.nWho needs private when the public system functions this well.nThe key to the above success was the people there, a lovely bunch who made me feel special and safe.nMany thanks team Waitakere, you are the BEST!!!

What wonderful, kind and helpful staff in the radiology department. There was a mistake made by myself regarding my appointment and it was quickly and efficiently sorted so that it was convenient for myself. I can’t thank the receptionist enough. I also didn’t have to wait very long at all and the radiologist was also very lovely and helpful.

From the time we arrived to the very last minute we left. The staff in E.D and Rangatira ward were nothing but lovely to us.nnYou can tell how much the staff genuinely loved their job and how much time that they put into their patients.nnThank you all so much for taking very good care of my son & myself and making him as comfortable as possible and making it less stressful and overwhelming for me I hope to see you all again, but not for medical reasons

Gave birth there twice, maternity ward staff were all very attentive, have great patience, professional, generous with their time and always ensure I was well taken care of. Really appreciate that they allow you to stay in the hospital for as long as you need, unlike other hospitals in Auckland that need to turn the beds around fast due to high volume and high risk. Although the building and facilities are dated, the maternity ward still functions very well. The only let down was the food speechless, judge the photo for yourselves…, and twice I had inconsiderate roommates with inconsiderate noisy partners staying overnight with them or have the whole tribe visiting them, and ignore nurses’ instructions to be considerate to others and use the whanau/ common room.

Visited the eye clinic for appointment with Dr Leo Sheck.nAll staff & volunteers so courteous & helpful.
