The ultimate late-night spot!nI love that this Kmart is open 24/7. I went at 12:00 PM and it was so crowded to shop. The store is massive and they actually had the viral TikTok items in stock that were sold out everywhere else!
Kmart Manukau, located in the bustling Manukau Supa Centa on Cavendish Drive, is the largest Kmart in New Zealand, spanning nearly 5,000 square metres. One of its most appealing features is its 24/7 operation, making it a convenient destination for shoppers at any hour, particularly shift workers and night owls. The store offers an impressive variety of affordable products, from homewares and furniture to clothing, toys, and electronics, making it a popular one-stop shop for families and individuals alike. Customers frequently praise the spacious layout, which generally allows for easy navigation even during busier periods. However, due to its popularity and large catchment area, Kmart Manukau can become especially busy on weekends and during sales, with long queues at checkouts and crowded aisles becoming more common.nnWhile many shoppers have noted helpful and friendly staff members, others have reported inconsistencies in customer service, ranging from difficulty locating assistance on the floor to mixed experiences at the checkout. Additionally, there are recurring concerns about store organisation—products can sometimes be misplaced, shelves untidy, and price tags either missing or not matching register prices. Cleanliness is another area where feedback varies, with some customers finding the store neat and well-kept, while others describe cluttered or messy conditions during peak times. One practical drawback mentioned in several reviews is the lack of accessible restroom facilities within the store, which can be inconvenient, particularly during late-night visits when other nearby amenities may be closed.nnOverall, Kmart Manukau remains a go-to shopping destination for many Aucklanders due to its size, range, and 24/7 convenience. However, customers planning to visit on weekends or during busy periods should be prepared for crowds and allow extra time for their shopping experience. While there are areas that could benefit from improved consistency, the store’s accessibility and product variety continue to attract a loyal customer base.
I went to Kmart today to exchange a toy, but I didn’t have the receipt. The checkout staff member was very nice and explained that she couldn’t process the exchange without a receipt, which I fully understood. However, I asked if I could please speak to the manager to see if there was any other option.nnThe manager, Rick, came out and asked why I wanted to exchange the toy. I explained that it was a gift, and the child didn’t like it. He asked for a receipt, and when I said I didn’t have one, he told me I couldn’t exchange it “because of changing my mind,” and he said it in a very rude manner.nnI told him that if he simply said I needed a receipt and couldn’t do the exchange, I would accept that. But instead, he made an unnecessary comment about “changing my mind,” even though the toy is still brand new, unopened, and not a perishable item. There is nothing in the Kmart receipt or policy that states this.nnI took the toy and walked out of the store, and I also let him know how I felt. His attitude was very rude, and his customer service was very poor. Rick, as a manager, should know better. He does not own the Manukau Kmart, and he has no right to speak to customers in that way or give incorrect information. According to the Consumer Guarantees Act, he provided the wrong explanation regarding “change of mind” policies.nnI will be reporting this issue to the head office due to his behaviour and the incorrect information he gave me. He shout look at consumer guarantee Act 1993 . Toy can exchange for change of mine.
Just wanted to give a big shout-out to the customer service lady I dealt with. I had called ahead about a popular item and asked if it could be put on hold, since it’s a 45-minute drive for me. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I was told it had sold and that it shouldn’t have been held. While it was a frustrating situation, the lady was so apologetic and kind, it really made a difference. She even went out of her way to try to find me a replacement, which, although unsuccessful, I truly appreciated. No drama at all it wasn’t her fault but I just wanted to say thank you for her excellent customer service! I wish I got your name! She was on the help desk at 9.45am 5th December. Thank you for being a good human!
Kmart is generally a good store… until it isn’t. I went in today to buy some clothes and had my baby with me in a stroller. When I went to the fitting rooms to try the clothes on, I was shocked to find that the only disability fitting room large enough to fit a stroller was locked. When I asked a staff member to open it, I was told it was being used to store shop stock.nnVery very disappointed
