Great restaurant. I can’t speak more highly of this place.nService is attentive, professional and unpretentious. Never feel rushed, but also never wait long for the next course.n3 or 5 course options. I have had both on various occasions and not left hungry ever!nOutstanding food. Menu changes often as we’ve never had the same dish twice. Optional cheese course seems like a thing which I always get, because why choose between a cheese course or sweet dessert if you don’t have too!nFood is modern in execution and classic flavour combinations. Menus are always nicely balanced.nMenu prices are very competitive. You know how much you’re going to spend before you walk in.nBig fan! If you enjoy fine dining this is a must visit in NZ for me.
I purchased gift vouchers with a drinks add on to for my Dads 60th bday. When Dad arrived they had on his plate Happy Bday written in choc sauce with some chocolates these extra beautiful sentimental things they did were so lovely!! And It was a surprise. The food was absolutely outstanding generous portions and each dish was mind blowing and on par with michelan star restaurants. An absolute Gem we have found in Taupo!!! thanks so much to the team at Embra for an unforgettable amazing experience for my Dad.
Thank you so much for this experience.nThat was one of the best meals or I think the best I’ve ever eaten. Incredible.nnStarting with the sourdough bread, which was the best I've ever had, plus the slightly sweet and savoury malt butter version. First class.nAll the courses were a culinary delight.nThe cod in prosciutto and the pork loin could have made me cry with joy at the flavour.nnMy favourite, however, was the spelt risotto which was so perfectly balanced and strong.nnThe service left nothing to be desired and the ambience rounded off the visit with a 15/10.nnHats off to the whole team and thank you once again for this evening!
Very good food. Well thought out, unique flavours and pairings, finely presented. Worth the visit, but we found the service was slow, with the wait times between courses too long 2.5 hours overall. This was unfortunately made worse by the fact that we felt cold. I say “felt cold” as I believe it was more to do with where we were seated, than the lack of heating on a cold 7c evening.nThe highlight however was the Rhubarb dessert - fantastic! see pic.nHighly recommend going if you get the chance, but for us - it seems it was not meant to be :-
We had the degustation menu with wine pairing. Every course was a delight. Staff were very knowledgable, helpful and accommodating. Allergies, dietary preference and late arrival were not a problem for them. A very special meal. We will definitely find an excuse to come back.
