Copthorne Hotel Rotorua

Decent hotel, clean and the balcony is nice to relax outside. Quite good value for money. Only downside is both times we stayed housekeeping come into the room quite early before checkout banging on the door to come in. Second time just walked in unlocked the door without knocking a whole hour before checkout time. No cutlery or plates, have a restaurant but no room service

Really lovely staff and the most comfortable beds ever and at the end of the day that's what you want. The hotel is dated and well worn in places however the price you pay reflects that so for us great value for money. Good pool and spas.

The comfiest beds I've ever slept on in a hotel. Staff was incredibly welcoming and considerate for our large group. Facilities were clean. Pool was heated and had great hours! The indoor common spaces were a tad cold, but rooms were a comfortable temperature.Rooms: 4/5

+ Very good mattress, well above average + Good pillows and enough of them + No issues with road noise despite being right next to a busy street. And we had the window open. + Pretty nice room overall + Free access to heated pool and Jacuzzi - Could use a bit of maintenance here and there, I expected better for the prices they charge. - Toilet did not flush very well

Overall the stay at Copthorne Hotel was nice. The check in process was fine. The room size was more than enough. The cleanliness of the room itself was below average and the bathroom facilities are outdated. With that being said, I would still stay here. Excellent place to stay for the price.

We booked the superior queen room for two nights. During our check in there were no welcoming words from the person at the reception and no info regarding anything like building access/ spa pool time / bar was given. We were handed over a sheet of paper mentioning the that we are short staffed so bare with us. And on top of that we were asked to give an exact time of our check out two days after even though we opted for late check out while doing the booking. Room was tidy with all the amenities as mentioned on their website. One of the chair in the room was Broken. Washroom was clean but the toilet seat flap was not stable , it kept falling. On the day of check out we received a call from the reception asking about the time of check out even though we already informed them while checking in. Not sure if they keep notes in their system with the respective bookings or not. For accessing the main door and the room , its not a key less or tap entry. You need to open doors with the old school lock and key technique. We booked for a buffet breakfast but for both the mornings they told due to less staff we are doing à la carte. The breakfast portion served was good and filling. Overall the stay was ok.

Alright for a short stay - if everything else is fully booked. A very strange place - looks big and promising definitely a lot of potential. But the place is dated, and most importantly, not looked after. Dirty carpets, stained taps, shower/bathtub with mold. Furniture that screams "that'll do".Rooms: 2/5

Very kind staff very punctual at what they do and offer the best services possible to clients the food is to die for. Honestly the hotel is in one of best locations as If your new to rotorua you don't get that sulfur smell the beds are like sleeping on clouds 10/10 would recommend Rooms: Ocd persons dream to walk into puts your mind at ease Walkability: Easy access all around there is elevators also Food & drinks: The kitchen perfect if your a foodie recommend

Bed was nice, but room was a little rough. I did like the balcony. The Breakfast buffet was limited and they charged extra if there was more than one. Definitely not worth the extra charge.Rooms: 3/5

Booked and paid for 3 nights. The smell of the corridors and room smelled disgusting. Had dirty stained carpet. Many corridor lights were broken. Vending machine was broken. Uneven flooring. Only 2 cups, glasses and a teaspoon. No other cutlery to eat your cereal or make a sandwich. Notified reception was told to collect the cutlery. It’s their job to bring it. Dated furniture. Chinese owned / managed so typical to get poor quality. Refused to stay another night and they made excuses not to refund me/company for last night. Afford this place.
