My sister gave birth today at this hospital. Good support from the midwife, very attentive and informative. The Dr was great too. It was after when she gave birth that it sort of went down hill. Didnt know what happened after the handover, everything was left as it was. Nobody informed us what was happening, my sister and her baby was left for two hours without getting cleaned up nor getting checked on. Wasnt sure if they were fixing paper works /documents, but, in my opinion that can wait. Care for the patient I believe should take precedence over documentation. Finally someone came in and treated us with compassion and care. She made sure both my sister and the baby were looked after. She LISTENED and talked to us. Im very thankful to her. She was fantastic, I cant thank her enough, she did a magnificent job.

I have worked at many hospitals and I have never seen such high degree of patient care that the staff give.It is always  pleasure to work there as agency staff are included as part of the team and welcomed.Its nice to meet all the patients from different walks of life and hear their stories.

Disappointing experience. Hospital is run on a very tight budget. Old, run down and dated decor. Paint peeling off walls and cupboards. Blood already in the toilet when I checked in. Bathrooms are old and not what you’d expect in a private hospital. BYO mug, tissues & pen etc etc. Nursery not open at all during my 4 night stay so I could get some desperately needed sleep. The lodger bed was disgraceful, sunken in the middle and not worth the $250 per night. Nurse took 6 attempts to withdraw blood and proceeded to drop the needle onto my arm. Was about to start crying for her to stop. Had bruising and swelling for days. Not happy at all. Staff were friendly enough. After speaking to other mothers and their experiences, when it comes time for my next baby I will go to a public hospital as a private patient.

Very clean and well run hospital. Grounds are well kept. Staff were great.

Makes staff pay for parking which results in them parking on Joel Terrace forcing residents to constantly scramble for parking spots at their own homes.... Very frustrating Its bad enough the patients and visitors take all our parking already. Not good enough Mercy!!?
