I had a surgical procedure yesterday at South Perth hospital, all of their staff were good but one of their Registered Nurse Joanne if I am not wrong about her name because of the after effects of anaesthesia was so kind and caring. She took great care of me after surgery and I highly appreciate her.nThanks Joanne, if you are reading this :

I stayed in SPH mid-2024. The staff were supportive, engaging and we had some fun.  The food was divine and I was especially impressed with my partner getting a meal each night- which we paid for.  A huge thanks to everyone for making this a very positive and memorable stay!

I was at South Perth Hospital for a wisdom tooth removal and was very impressed with how seamless the whole procedure was! From the initial quoting to pre-admission to the surgery itself, I felt like I was in great hands. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, thorough in their checks and ensured I was comfortable considering how nervous I was. I was prepped quickly and it was over before I knew it; they were like a well oiled machine. Very thankful

While this hospital may have many strengths in terms of clinical care and facilities, our recent experience left us deeply disappointed due to one issue: the lack of consideration for patients' emotional and psychological needs, particularly young adults undergoing surgery.nnA very young adult in our family was scheduled for day surgery and, shockingly, was not allowed to have a parent accompany them. At a time when comfort, reassurance, and emotional support are absolutely critical, especially for someone barely out of childhood, this policy felt cold and unnecessarily rigid.nnIt is disheartening to see a healthcare institution overlook the importance of patient-centered care. Medical treatment isn't just about procedures and outcomes; it's about treating people with empathy and understanding. Unfortunately, this one significant failure overshadowed any of the hospital's potential positives for us.nnWe hope the administration seriously reconsiders policies like this one, which alienate patients and families rather than support them. Until then, we cannot recommend this hospital for anyone who values holistic and compassionate care.
