I’m giving 5 stars to the amazing staff who were reassuring, kind, patient and professional. Of course the hospital itself is very run down and a bit depressing but I know everyone is looking forward to getting to the new one. Thank you so much to the staff for looking after my baby in the emergency department and for explaining everything to me clearly so I could leave feeling more confident with how to care for my daughter.

Name and shame. Nurse Browyn from 6b is a disgusting human. She would make more money being a drug dealer. Dr J Ha has lied and made my daughter sicker. As I can't reply to the reply to my response i will write here. The way complaints work is absolutely pathetic and these terrible doctors and nurses just get away with it. They are not held accountantable. I tried to make a complaint but I would just get rubbish answers and lies to cover there own backsides. Its a joke. I have made complaints I'm sure u have it on record somewhere. I hope they suffer like my family has.

We had to bring our injured child into the Emergency Department. Our first and hopefully never again visit. We waited for about maybe over 2 hours. Both the registered nurse and the doctor who saw us were really nice. (they didn't introduce themselves so I can't provide their names to compliment them). You can see they actually like their job and care about looking after children. Even though they work in the ED and deal with stressful situations, they were able keep cool and be nice to us, parents who are worried and scared and having to bring their injured child into ED. Big thanks to them for being able to keep their cool under stressful times. The same can't be said about the staff working at the front desk who deals with filling in paperwork. She was an older lady (possibly the oldest at the front desk?). She was rude and sarcastic. As someone who works in the Emergency Department of a children's hospital, surely she sees sick children coming in with their worried parents all day? She seems lacking in any compassion (maybe this isn't part of her job specs but surely it is common sense?). I was scared and worried for my child. She asked us a whole lot of questions and I asked her to explain what she was asking (because I didn't understand what she was really asking). She then shook her head at me and ignored my questions. When I then asked how long approximately we would be seen, without looking up from her computer, she curtly said "I don't know. You just wait." I ended up asking the triage nurse who explained how many were waiting before us. I understand any ED, especially that of a children's hospital is short staffed, stressed out etc, however this does not excuse bad attitudes. I think I spotted your poster said: Respect, Give It, Take It? Or something as to this effect? We certainly were not given any respect by this older lady staff. Perhaps she could go through a refresher training course in customer service. Again, thank you to the doctor and nurse who looked after us.

It is a great hospital but we really need the new children's hospital open as the older it gets it is definitely having an affect on the hospitals machines and things like that. Once we have the new hospital it will be great! All staff, doctors and nurses are pretty good too.

Staff need to know they are in a customer service roll not to be rude when they havemade a error to have you waiting extra time then ask why you been waiting there ??
