Had surgery the nursing staff great everything great until next day when I was pushed out of my room because they needed the bed. That’s what you get for trying to recover well. St John of God Subiaco. Note for patients don’t try to recover to fast St John of god will jump on it and push you out before your next of kin arrives to pick you up. If you can’t schedule your rooms don’t take it out on your patient! Rude and greedy++ Also ward clerk told me I had to be out by ten o’clock when I had already told them my husband was picking me up at 1100. Then ward clerk said I was refusing to vacate my room and she was going to get the duty manager. I said good get the duty manager! By the way I was never informed at anytime that I had to leave the hospital by 10am the day after my surgery. Will find a health professional next time who operates at another private hospital.
Had my beautiful baby boy here. The midwives, nurses, and doctors were so kind to me. My stay at the hospital was very welcoming, comfortable, and supportive. So very grateful. Thank you very much. Also it was really nice that they offered a variety of food options that you can choose from a menu. Not a typical hospital food at all. Great menu, talented chefs. The hospital even gave me a nice big candle as a gift after I had my baby.
Such an incredible shame you pay for private and you lose your money. Seems hit and miss here via the reviews - guess it depends on who’s on the ward the week you give birth. I became a first time mum to twins here 8 weeks ago and had a horrible experience on the maternity ward. I haven’t even been able to put pen to paper because of so many bad things that happened that I’m mentally recovering from. Let alone trying to cope at home as a new parent!nI will say the birth thankfully went smoothly and am SO grateful to my OB and the midwives in attendance on the labour ward. The maternity ward is unbelievably mismanaged and you can tell that the good midwives are trying their best to keep the whole ward afloat. When I checked into the hospital for my induction we waited 45mins and no one came to see us so my husband had to go and find someone. I had brought colostrum with me that was thrown out because we had waited so long and it had since ‘spoiled’.nThere were one or two midwives Suzie is an actual angel that literally saved my life after I was not properly looked after and I suffered a full mental breakdown, even though it has been flagged that I was an at risk patient for mental health issues, a first time mum AND a twin parent. There are agency nurses who run the nights that are horrible, rude and didn’t ask my consent when I attempted to BF my baby - she was rough with my child and forced her on my breast. The lactation consult was sick and not replaced for 5 DAYS. No one followed up with me when I went home I was left a voicemail - again I’m high risk and no one forwarded my information and details to the CHN. I’m so unbelievably disappointed.
Had my baby here three weeks ago and I have to say the team here was amazing. The communication was on point and a real big shout out goes to the nurses and the midwives who were so supportive through the whole first time mum no experience thing. Also a shout out to the nurses who work the CTG scans prior the pregnancy in the suites - they gave amazing advice and were so patient.nnAlso massive shout out to Libby for helping me out with the gestational diabetes with help from Dr Graham. This really was a process and I feel grateful to the both of you for your help.nnThank you team for your support and genuine care it means the world to this first time mum.nnAlso being able to have my husband stay with me the whole time was a godsend so that’s an awesome plus to this hospital too.
I have to give this hospital a 5 star, I have read some of the 1 star reviews, I had shoulder surgery 29th Nov 2024, everything went perfect, I was on ward 51, all staff, nurses, doctors, catering staff, all perfect, especially the ENs, special shout out to ENs Worky, Sam trainee, Victoria & Maryline, the care I received could not have been better in my opinion. As well as the physios.nOnly problem was, getting out of the building next day when I was discharged, it is a huge rabbit warren even WITHOUT the renovations.nWhen I got lost for the 3rd time I almost pulled out my phone and used google maps to find the exit lol.nDefinietly recommend, use this hospital no worries.
