I recently had surgery and spent 3 nights in St John's at Subiaco. All the staff were wonderful. The nurses I had during my stay were all friendly, professional, caring, and attentive. I would like to say a huge thank you to Polite, my night nurse, Jade, Mary, Josephine, and Hannah.... I hope I didn't miss anyone out in my post surgical haze. And a big thank you to the orderlies, especially Adien. Thank you all so much for looking after me and making my stay enjoyable under the circumstances, you are all amazing.
I had recent surgery and overnight stay on ? ward51. The whole process from arrival to discharge was delivered with warm professionalism. I would like to thank the absolutely lovely nurses and orderlies for their care in a very busy environment. Theo went above and beyond and nothing was too big. I'm particularly grateful to Susana who looked after me with such care, warmth and professionalism.
Review of St John of Subi Hospital - Partner's StaynnMy partner recently stayed at St John of Subi for ALIF surgery, and unfortunately, it was not a positive experience.nWhile the nurses were wonderful and caring, it was clear that the hospital relied on inexperienced agency staff in the Spine ward, which created a sense of uncertainty and inconsistency in the care provided.nnAnother disappointment was the food. Every meal was cold by the time it arrived in his room, which is would not be expected for a private hospital.nnThe overall experience was made worse by a difficult discharge process. We were told to follow up with the surgeon for discharge papers and a medical certificate, but the whole process felt unorganised and left us with unanswered questions.nnFor a private hospital, it felt as though the focus was more on profit than on providing the quality care patients deserve. Given these issues, I would choose another hospital for any future surgery.
I had my son via c- section I march 2025. I was very happy with my OB and she did an amazing job. I wish I had researched the hospital itself just as thoroughly as my stay left me feeling angry and distrustful of medical staff.nnMy child was in the NICU for 5 days, a nurse made an error which caused my son to suffer because she was too busy blabbering about her tea break.nnBreastfeeding was also not well supported in the NICU - not all nurses had enough patience for a new mum who was learning and wanted to just get straight to feeding with a bottle and putting the baby back in his bassinet, even though he was not high risk.nnThe maternity ward is a carousel of casual staff clocking in for shifts. They write the name of the nurses that will be looking after you on the wall and you might see them once, you do however have a merry go round of interruptions and these caused me to be late for EVERY.SINGLE.FEED for my son. Staff do not respect your privacy, I had a do not disturb sign on my door for days and not one person respected it.nnThere was a problem with one of my medications causing me to feel ill, unable to keep food down and become extremely dehydrated - not ideal for breast feeding. I expressed this to various nurses and was met with ‘oh wells’ or ‘that’s a shame’ ‘drink more water’ and I assumed it was just another one of those pregnancy related ailments that nobody considers treating.nnEventually a lactation consultant mentioned it to a head nurse 5 days in and they decided that there was a small chance it could be gastro and wanted to isolate me from my child for three days. I was ‘informed’ of this, not asked.nnAt this point I felt that I’m the only choice I had was to leave the hospital early and I took my child home where we both made a miraculous recovery without the sub par ‘care’ of SJOfG subì.nnI completed the feed back forms with a more in depth review than this and was never contacted.nnPlease save your money, the room service and double bed is not worth it if you leave traumatised and they hurt your childn.
I had my baby delivered here. The nurses and midwives are really helpful and patient. During my labour, the midwives were extremely patient and had given me a lot of support.nThe food was AMAZING in the ward. They even prepared candlelight dinner for the new parents :
