I entered the car park at 5.57pm on Friday October 28. I required a 20 minute park which according to the rates board at the entrance boom gate advised this would cost $5. I attempted to re-enter the car park but found it all locked up. I called their number but got hung up on twice. Fairly upset I had to get a taxi to take me home - $70. The next morning Saturday I again got a taxi into the city $70 to retrieve the car - car park closed! Had to get another taxi home. I called their number and was advised the car park is closed from 6pm Friday until Monday morning. I didn't see those signs and don't expect a car park to be closed over the weekend. Monday morning I spend another $70 getting a taxi and managed to retrieve my car after spending $190.28 on ticket costs. All up for a park that should have cost $5 I am out of pocket $460.28. To get to my point very quickly - they advertised on the rate board at the entrance point that the car park is 24/7. - it's very clear and prominent. They have materially mislead a customer and are engaging in deceptive trading.... and basically rorting people. Park at your own risk.
Convenient location. Lift is on level 1 and level 5. We had to travel to level 5 to find a vacant spot. Cost for 1 hour 10 mins in the middle of a work day was $58. It was a half block walk to our appointment on Ann Street. The ramps are easy to navigate. They have safety ribs on the cement to assist with traction. The parking space was clean. The payment box is on Level 1.
I’ve been sitting here for over 30 minutes trying to get out - every person has had to call and sit on hold because the machine isn’t reading their card. This isn’t the first time this happens - happens at least once a month. The lift is always broken, the boom gates don’t work, the payment machine doesn’t work and the car spaces are weird and tiny. It’s the cheapest car park in the city but you get what you pay for….
Money hungry grubs! Changed the early bird parking to online only with no formal advertisement outside or inside the building. Went from paying $32 per day to $86 for the day. An absolute joke. Signs still up out the front and the comms help desk were so cold and unfeeling when I enquired about this- would have thought there’d be some empathy as today is the first day of this change over. Take your patronage elsewhere!!
Book online before you come here. The price is a lot better if you do. The car park itself is very cramped. If another car is on the level it is a bit of a squeeze. Great location though
This parking is worse.! Sign said $5 for 0 Hours.! I JUST PARK HALF AN HOUR and charge me $45 bucks.? DON'T PARK ON THIS.! you'll just charge you lot.!
For such expensive parking, this is a very poor parking garage. Broken payment machine, dodgy elevator, subpar service - money gouging for an inconvenient experience.
Absolutely disgusted in 179 Turbot Street car park.. spent $43 to park on level 5 with a 2.5 year old and a 1 year old. To have too walk either up & down the ramps/driveway or bounce a pram down a fire escape trying to juggle the kids. Was a last minute trip in to the city to get my kids birth certificates so basically picked the first car park I seen as I don't go in to the city .. Would have been nice to have seen a sign stating no elevator instead of after the fact only on line when you prepay for a spot . Not only did I struggle but as I was leaving a poor elderly couple with canes where trying to get out of your stupid car park...
Absolutely atrocious parking situation. I am disabled and thus my husband and I searched for accessible parking bays to no avail. Then we just tried to search for a regular car park - nearly every floor had spots reserved for businesses free but no other secure parking spots were available. After scouring the entire car park we found a spot on level 6, but the lift doesn't go up to level 6! So despite causing me significant pain, I had to hobble down to level 5 where the lift is and my husband had to carry my wheelchair down. Then once we made it down to the Turbot street exit of the car park there are a significant number of stairs!! I don't know how it's legal to have such an obscene lack of disabled access; if there *is* disabled parking then there is certainly no signage regarding where to go or how to get to the street level. Even if you aren't disabled this is a truly horrendous car park because the majority of the parks are difficult to get into, and you do not get good value for money at all. If anyone I know mentions they need parking in the city I will discuss my experiences here and dissuade them from these parking facilities.
WARNING ‼‼‼‼ This carpark is a total RIP OFF, it is only there to fool you, online is bull$#@ as well the website wouldn't even load. Find another car park.
