The good: The views were amazing. The buffet breakfast was perfect. The staff were professional and polite. The dessert and drinks we had at the bar were delicious. The price was very reasonable. The suite was clean.nnThe bad: The bathrooms required maintenance. 1/3 of the shower door was missing, so it could not close properly. A jet in the bath did not work. There was evidence of water damage in various places. Fixtures were loose.nnWe also noticed the TV volume in the lounge went to 100, but the same TV in the bedroom only went up to 50 and was noticeably quieter. It was almost impossible to hear while the AC was also on.
Great location in East Pertb, close to the Swann River and great walks.nThe hotel reception staff were excellent and very welcoming .nThe hotel and rooms are dated, but the price matches the hotel. Parking is great.nRestaurants were ok. Staff friendly. Food tasted and was cooked perfectly. However, food came out like it had been in the fridge and reheated. The steak cooked to perfection med-rare. Just cold food. If I was not so tired from our flight, I would have raised this with the restaurant staff.
I was surprised to learn upon arrival of the $38 per night parking fee which I felt was very overpriced.nnThe room and bathrooms are very outdated and in need of renovation.nnOn one night there were people in the room above us, and next to us both yelling and arguing at 3am which we could hear very clearly - the rooms are not sound proof at all, and we wondered why we were placed next to another occupied room in a hotel which I would have imagined was no where near at capacity in the month of June.nnOn a positive note, the hotel is in a good location.
I usually choose Accor hotels when I travel, and Novotel Langley Perth is well located — close to bus stops, walkable to key spots, and convenient overall. The staff were lovely and accommodating throughout our stay. Front desk was helpful, and we always returned to a clean room with fresh linen and towels.nnHowever, we did have a few issues that made the stay less comfortable than expected. The bed was the main concern - we had booked a queen size as usual, but it felt smaller and too soft. Both my partner and I ended up with back pain, which isn’t ideal after long hours of travel when all you want is a good rest.nnOther areas that could be improved:nn- Lighting in the room was dim and flickering, especially in the bathroom and near the mirror.n- The gym felt more like a storage room with equipment than a proper fitness space. View is great thoughn- Breakfast was underwhelmingnnOverall, it was a pleasant stay thanks to the helpful staff and great location, but the comfort and facilities need some attention.nnFor the price point, we expected more in line with other Novotel experiences.
The room was clean and the view from the gym was great. Great location too.nnHowever, we got double charged for hotel parking overnight and were never issued a refund. We provided screenshots of the double payments, but the hotel staff insisted that it’s “not their responsibility” because the carpark is dealt by a third party. This is understandable, so we asked for guidance for who to best contact, but shockingly, the staff put us on hold and just hung up on us, twice.nnDespite all this, we were polite every time we made contact to ask for assistance, but the male reception staff was unfriendly and made it sound like we were troubling them. We also spoke to one of the female managers who said she'd get back to us but never did. It’s been 4 weeks and no one has bothered to assist us at all.nnPlease come up with a better system for parking so that your guests don’t get double charged to begin with. The service that followed was honestly really disappointing.
