Nice hotel and suite, mixed experience with staff. I had a short stay in a Club Suite at the Westin Perth and it was overall very nice with some weak spots.nnThe suite was very nice - plenty of room, almost like a small apartment, with designed living room, dining room, bedroom, and bathroom spaces. Decor was nice, modern and clean. The room was comfortable and big enough to just relax inside and not feel cooped up. The public areas of the Westin are also well designed.nnMost of the staff were also excellent - friendly and helpful. The big standouts were the reception desk staff and the staff in the club lounge, where literally every single staff member in the area came by during breakfast to say hello and check in if I needed anything.nnThe big letdown were staff at the door - valets and doormen? I walked to the front door instead of being dropped off directly I was walking around doing some sightseeing. There was a group of door staff working chatting together and they completely ignored me - no greeting or acknowledgement, definitely no opening the door or helping with my bags. It was a really bad first impression that was incongruent to the otherwise excellent hotel.
We really enjoyed this hotel. We had a suite on the 16th floor with amazing city views. The suite layout is great, it even comes with 2 toilets. We included the executive lounge access in the booking and it was worth it. We enjoyed breakfast in that lounge and we tried drinks and canapes one night, those felt like a proper dinner - there were many dishes and all were delicious. My very minor comment for improvement is that the lighting in the suite was generally very dim and it would have been useful to have the option for bright light in the bathroom to actually see your face for applying makeup etc.
A very pleasant surprise in Perth. They kindly upgraded to us to a suite which had incredible skyline views and was overall a fantastic room, bright, pleasant and modern. Overall the hotel has a cool architecture which makes it standout in the area.nnBreakfast included as a titanium benefits and is an incredible Italian spread.nnBeautiful gym and pool area and great for an outdoor run as elizabeth quay is a short 1km away.nnService flawless, overall I can hardly say anything bad about it. Highly recommended!
I don’t normally review hotel but this I have to. It was touted as one of the most luxurious hotel in Perth so we booked a high floor suite for 10 days.nnGood reception team, concierge, etc. Great location but a couple of things were strange especially with the room.nnFirst of all, the free breakfast is only available in the executive lounge and a $25 surcharge applies if you go to the lobby restaurant is the first I have seen. I spent 25% of my time annually traveling for business so this rule is weird for sure.nnThe room. It’s so COLD! I set the thermostat to 24 degrees for the bedroom and the dining hall but it’s freezing, felt like 16-18 degrees all the time. I have given feedback to the front desk but to no effect. We felt sick being so cold all the time.nnThen, the bath. There is only 1 bath and we have 3 guests. If you are the third person showering, the hot water starts to turn colder, almost like it’s running out of hot water. The water pressure is also very poor.nnTV was best described as antique. No on demand streaming app, only local channels and a cable service. Cannot serve internet. Android only app usage, how old is the TV??!nnThen there is this strange phenomenon that takes place around 11.30pm-12.30am almost every night. The main door starts producing a sharp pitch sound like air was rapidly being sucked out through the gaps. The sound disappears if I open the main door and let the ‘air’ rushes out and then the sound softens. The door is also hard to open and I suspect the air pressure causes that. Again, a business road warrior myself and have never experienced this strange phenomenon before anywhere else.nnLastly, housekeeping service is quite poor for a reputable hotel and suite treatment. Stains were apparent on toilet bowls. no extra rolls provided. just generally a lack of details.nnOverall, I’m quite disappointed with this suite experience with Westin Perth.
We had a very enjoyable stay at The Westin Perth overall.nnWe actually changed rooms twice during our stay. The bed in our original room was too small for our needs, and the second room was unfortunately quite noisy. The staff were incredibly patient and understanding throughout the process, doing everything they could to help us find a room that suited us better. We eventually upgraded to a Club Room at a very reasonable price, and it was absolutely worth it. The room was beautiful, and the view from the 25th floor was fantastic.nnThe location is also very convenient. It is within walking distance of Hay Street, where you will find plenty of shops, restaurants, and Kmart. The area can feel a little quiet at night, but we found it safe and easy to get around.nnParking is available on-site at AUD50 per day with multiple entries.nnThe only area for improvement would be the Club Lounge breakfast. In many hotels with executive or club rooms, guests have the option of either having breakfast in the lounge or dining at the main restaurant. At The Westin Perth, Club Room guests are limited to breakfast in the lounge, and we found the selection quite limited compared to what we would expect from a hotel of this standard.nnThat said, the excellent service, comfortable room, great location, and the staff's willingness to go the extra mile made this a very enjoyable stay. We would happily stay here again.
