Overall a disappointing stay at the Duxton.nnOur room was large, bright and lovely. A little disappointing to receive a welcome note addressed to another guest thoughnnFOH staff were mostly very good. We were confused by the lobby bar staff telling us that 'loaded fries; were unavailable at 6pm in the evening of our last night, only to return to our group a half hour later to tell us they were now available. Later that evening is when more issues arose.nnAt 9pm we attempted to enter the restaurant open til 10pm and were told they were closed for the evening and to order in the bar. We decided instead that as the menus were the same, we would order room service and eat in our room while enjoying a bottle of wine purchased when out and about.nnWe attempted to order room service at the front desk and were told we had to use the QR code in our room. After returning to our room we attempted to use the QR code, but the evening menu was unavailable. We rang through to 'in room dining' to order our food manually and requested some extra wine glasses.nnWhen our food came, meals were tiny and food quality was below average. Our $35 burgers resembled sliders and the fish and ships was slimy and soggy.nnWhen we contacted the hotel with our complaints, we were told too bad and not refunds would be applied, without any investigation into what or why we were complaining.nnI would welcome contact form the hotel to discuss the issues and ensure future future customers don't encounter similar issues.
This hotel offers quiet and comfortable accommodation in a prime location, making it an excellent choice for exploring Perth’s most iconic attractions. Although the room was on the smaller side, it was thoughtfully designed to maximize functionality, and the bed provided a good level of comfort for a restful night’s sleep. That said, the room’s finishes and materials were not quite up to the standard I had anticipated, which was a minor disappointment.nnThe standout feature of this hotel, however, is its staff. They maintain impeccable cleanliness throughout the property and are always friendly and attentive, ensuring that guests feel welcome and well cared for. Every team member I encountered demonstrated an impressive work ethic and genuine commitment to making my stay as enjoyable as possible. Despite some minor shortcomings, the quality of service and the hotel’s excellent location make it a solid choice for a visit to Perth.
Excellent location , easy walking around city . Room was very spacious with rain shower in bathroom. Bar staff very friendly and made excellent cocktails of your choice. . The front desk staff were so accommodating to us when we explained we had long haul flights back to Ireland , they allowed us late checkout at 12, even though Hotel is full.
I would like to provide some feedback regarding our stay at the Duxton Hotel, which we feel did not fully meet 5-star expectations.nnParking: We were not informed beforehand that valet parking was the only option available, at a cost of $65 per day. Many CBD hotels offer a self-parking option at a reduced rate. Knowing this in advance might have impacted our decision, including the choice to hire a car.nnAmenities: We were surprised to find the toiletries locked in the bathroom. It would be more guest-friendly to either unlock these or provide an accessible set for the bathtub.nnDigital Access: We encountered difficulties with your QR codes. While the website and room service information are available, there was no clear guidance on where the pool is located, and the menu failed to load via QR code at the poolside.nnEntertainment: It was disappointing not to find a dedicated movie channel, as other 5-star hotels often provide current movie options. Relying on guests to log into their personal streaming accounts feels less accommodating.nnHair dryer Safety: The hairdryer in our room appears to have missed recent safety checks, potentially posing a risk to guests.nnWhile we enjoyed aspects of our stay, we hope these points can be considered for future improvements. We wish to share this feedback in the hope that it enhances the experience for future guests.
Brilliant hotel with amazing room. I was o the level linked to the swan lounge which has amazing views of the swan river. If you have lounge access, use it; it’s very relaxing. The pub / restaurant has a much more lively feel than the lounge but equally good.
