Excellent service and hospitality from the staff at Mantra on Hay. I cannot thank the team enough for looking after me and helping me out. I stayed here for approx 2 months having to extend week by week. Everytime I went to reception to extend each staff member showed professionalism, compassion, friendliness and happily extended me understanding my situation.nIn addition to the reception staff the housekeeping was incredible. As I was a longer term guest my room was serviced many times. They come in a full team and are very lively and bubbly. The room is turned over in no time to a high standard and I'm always left feeling in a great mood after the team has come through.nDuring my stay it was a challenging environment with many street people around and a very noisy construction site next door. Despite this challenging environment the staff upheld a high standard of hospitality and professionalism.nThankyou to the entire team at Mantra on Hay. I had an awesome stay as a result of the staff's care for their guests.
We recently stayed in a very large two-bedroom / two-bathroom apartment featuring a kitchenette and laundry. The apartment itself was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room to relax and spread out, and we especially appreciated having both a washing machine and dryer in the bathroom. The bathrooms were appointed with lovely, great-smelling toiletries.nThere was also a balcony attached to the room, although the view wasn’t particularly memorable not a Hotel issuennThe location was definitely one of the biggest highlights of our stay. It’s very central and within walking distance of many tourist attractions and the Hay Street area. Perth’s free CAT bus service was also extremely convenient, with bus stops located just outside the hotel. For destinations a little further away, Uber was inexpensive and easy to book.nnWhen we first arrived, there was a noticeable musty smell near the lifts, and at times we could also detect it in our room. Although the apartment was clean and tidy, the overall décor felt a little tired and dated.nnThe staff were pleasant, with some being especially friendly and welcoming, and we found the pricing to be very reasonable for the size and location of the accommodation.
We had a short stay 2 nights. And I would not stay again. The location was ok for what we wanted and check in staff were nice.nThe room however was horrid. Corridors smelt stale as soon as you walked out of the lift. Rubbish cart was in the corridor for 24 hours. The room was worse, smelt like mould and stale air. Needed to have door open even though cold. Every time we came back from outings it was a terrible attack on your senses.nNeeds a thorough clean or replacement carpets. Not something to blame on housekeeping.nBeds were comfortable and clean.nDisappointing as I thought Mantra had a good reputation.
The staff at check in were pleasant. The location is walkable to some things but feels a bit unsafe. The beds were sound and the smart tv and air con worked although one was missing a remote.nnIt’s a budget hotel so I had low expectations. However as soon as we entered the lifts I realised from the dirty stained carpet and smell of rubbish that I’d made a poor choice. The corridors smelt worse however the room was musty but tolerable.nnThe bed sheets were clean luckily but that was about it. The carpets felt grubby like i didn’t want to walk barefoot on them. Furniture was damaged and stained. Curtains looked dirty. The bathroom was mouldy. The dishwasher did not work. Couches felt too dirty to sit on, luckily we had blankets to use. Beds had synthetic blankets. Pillows were in bad shape.nnI feel like I need to decontaminate myself and all my luggage after checking out. The accommodation is suitable perhaps for young people or those who have lower standards of cleanliness. I haven’t stayed in a Mantra for years, maybe this is what they’re like now? Lesson learned!
I had a great stay, but there were a lot of things that the management could improve. We stayed in the two-bedroom apartment.nnFirst, the hallway was very dim, and some spots could be cleaned more thoroughly, especially in the bathroom area. And our room did not have windows that could be opened, so the smell lingered when we cooked. But honestly, other than that, it is a great hotel to stay.nnIt's a safe neighborhood, even though it might not seem like it. It's very close to the stop of the CAT bus, which is free in Perth, so it's convenient. And it has a pool on the rooftop.
