Stayed in a private elite double room. Room was very small, pretty much only a bed with bathroom and tiny amount of floor space. Place was pretty clean however. Small windows with no view and no air flow. Typical back-packers - noisy, old and fire alarms going off at night. No AC included and kitchen on roof top is cleaned very rarely, or maybe only by the visitors who don't care about it when they leave. Internet was actually pretty good but only works for one device (despite what ever they tell you, you cant switch it to another device). Would only recommend if you are okay about average back-packers accommodation.

Location is the big draw for this hostel. It's very close to Auckland Central and makes getting around easier. The rooms left me wanting. There was mold growing on the bathroom wall in the room I stayed in. Unfortunately that room had no window and, during the summer heat, results in a very stuffy room. Check in and check out went extremely smoothly and the staff were friendly. The only problem is that they prioritized check-ins based on who had the tipi app, which didn't seem to speed up the check-in process. Finally, the price was very competitive amongst hostels and made my stay in Auckland much cheaper than staying in a hotel. All in all, great location if you plan on being out of your room for most of your stay.

Not a stand out option as a place to stay. Definitely not a substitute for a hotel, firmly in the hostel category. But for a hostel it appears to have the basic level of cleanliness and the place supplies the bare basics so sits in the average category. Private room seems clean and functional except for the lack of cooling. Look forward to sweating all night.

Wouldn't really recommend staying here if you had a choice. For $350 for 3 nights certainly not value for money. The first room my cusion and I were given was smaller than a prison cell with no window was musty smelling and so hot. HOWEVER we did ask for a room with a window which they did give us BUT were going to charge us at first then decided not to. Not a overly clean place either.

I call it an industrial hostel, it's a busy place and a bit stinky in corridors or room. Free WiFi is only from 9am to 6pm and it isn't everywhere in the hostel, otherwise is 4$ a day or 12$ a week. Spa and sauna don't work for a while. The good point is that it's really well located in the very center of Auckland, and staff is nice.
