Great DoC campsite and well worth the $8 per adult. Lots to see and do in the area... tower walk, bike trail and walking tracks. Tap water and toilets provided, Spark cellphone coverage
The birdlife here is amazing, especially the kaka in the morning. It has a tap for a water source boil for drinking water. Many picnic tables and fire pits. If you are staying in winter make sure you fill up all your water bottles before the pipe to the tap freezes in the morning.
Standard edition DOC campsite with one standard issue long drop and a standard version of a concrete stove campfire .Does everything as expected, which is standard kiwi fare. 4 bloody stars. Kids loved it.
Awesome campsite, so close to the Timber Trail. Lots of sites, some are private lil alcoves. There is a tap with nice cool spring water. A pleasant my smelling long drop with hand sanitizer. We enjoyed both our nights there at Easter.
Had a wonderful time exploring in Pureora. Ngaherenga great spot to stay to do this.
Beautiful bird life and forest. And campfires there too. Long drop and water available, bring toilet paper and means to boil water. And don't forget bug spray
DOC site in Pureora forest. On bike trail, lovely pretty forest trail short...30mins. 1 long drop Good overnight stop.
Very tidy & quiet. Busy with walkers & bikers just staying for one night. Everyone in bed when dark 9- 9:30. Longdrop wasn't bad at all and there were barbeques but you need to gather wood and bring a light. Lots of Kaka and low flying fat Tui. Would return.
Basic with just one drop toilet. Picnic tables scattered around. Lots of space to camp. Enough foliage in case of bad weather.
Beautiful. Area is in awesome natural condition. Toilets are clean too.
