The coffee is hot. The food is fresh. The views are awesome. We lived neat here years ago and the locals are warm and friendly. I think it goes with the location so stop and find out.

Amazing hike! Challenging but doable, fantastic scenery all around. If you are in good shape you will complete it faster than the posted times, our hostel pushed us to book an earlier shuttle but we ended up waiting around for the first bus to come. Took us about 4.5h to complete.

What not to like the beauty of NZ at its finest. Some of the most beautiful lakes in varied colors. The walk as such is medium to easy with small stretch of rough terrain. The best approach is to take a shuttle to mangatepopo car park as there is a 4 hr parking limit applied. Shuttles has pick up from most hotels and runs as early as 6 am. Once you cross the entire stretch you can take the shuttle back to the hotel from the other side. Travel light with some snack and lots of water and a good camera.

This park is by far the best one in New Zealand. It's is an amazing experience. The crossing walk takes around 7 hours and you get to experience amazing views. At the end when you take off your boots it feels amazing. So far I have done this walk 3 times and Im happy to do it again.

An absolutely astonishing place. There isn't really any trees for a long way in either direction, which makes it possible to see very far. From what I have heard there is usually pretty bad weather here. But if you do catch a good day. There will be some really sweet views when walking the Tongariro Crossing. You should count on it taking at least four hours to walk it, lots of loose stones and rubble in some places. Would recommend hiking boots. But you will survive in regular joggers. Just beware of changing weathers and do bring food and water. There are several toilets on the way, so that should not be a problem.
