Really nice camp spot with a view of ruapehu. The facilities are basic but clean (drinking water and toilet)

Lovely spot. Sound of river & birdsong makes for really relaxing time. Nice gentle 30min native bushwalks. By the picnic tables (just b4 camp itself) there's a little track which takes you to the river. Deep enough spot to bathe/wash in. Camp itself usual DOC loo (clean) with cold water sink. Ohakune (2km from camp) quite a nice wee village. There's a New World supermarket there. Lots eating places & decent Information Centre. By the way DoC site says some gravel but actually the road is sealed. Your motor won't get dirty.

Great campsites. Can be noisy and messy depending on who else is there.

Lived near here years ago. Great walks and can be used to hike up into the Mountain plateau. Idea for overnight camping and picnics
