The camp site has fairly basic facilities which receive a minimal cleaning service. The tent site we were offered was more of a grass patch in front of the car park than a dedicated tenting area. Although the price/night reflected this, and was the cheapest campsite I stayed at.
However the site is the departure point for a number of single and multi-day activities so is ideal to stay at if heading off on one of those. To be fair this was explained by staff. Also quite handy to the shops, walking distance. There's a streamside walkway behind the camp which is partway through development, and will be a nice amenity.

We asked for the wifi password 10min before leaving just to send an e-mail for work but the lady told us we had to checkout in 10min so to go get wifi on the main street... kinda rude. There is also only one shower, luckily there was not a lot of people. On the positive side it’s relatively cheap.

We had a stop over at Raetihi holiday park. It's nice and quiet place to stay. And staff is really helpful.

Very affordable and good amenities. This campground offers canoe trips as well. Walking distance from takeaway and very friendly staff.

Affordable camping with very clean facilities. Washing machines and tumble dryers, hot showers, very close to Mt Ruapehu and Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Friendly staff.
