I would advise all to stay away from Europcar in general as their business model is deceitful and unethical.nnI flew to Melbourne 2 weekends in a row. Renting a Polestar 2 for the Australia Day long weekend and then an Ioniq6 on the following weekend.nnThe first vehicle was externally dirty and there was rubbish in the door pockets, however I accepted that maybe they were too busy to wash and vacuum the car and as I had an urgent meeting to get to, write it off as a one off.nnThe second weekend when I picked up the Ioniq 6, it was externally filthy, had no washer fluid and and only had 87% battery as per the 3rd photo, despite being advised it would be provided with 100% battery and needed to be returned accordingly.nnOn both occasions I selected to have a second authorised driver.n1st occasion surcharge applied of 36.44n2nd occasion surcharge applied of 113.26 for some unknown reason.nnNo itemised receipt or invoice have been issued.nDespite numerous attempts:n-Emailing them to ask for clarification and said invoice are completely ignored.n-Phone calls are not picked up at all and you stay on hold until it hangs up or alternatively you are pushed through to a survey on the satisfaction of your call without ever speaking to anyonennI have had to lodge actions through my bank.nnA simple Google search shows the ACCC has penalised this corporation $350000 in 2019 for excessive card surcharging and other places like Product review.com.au show that my scenario happens all too often. If only I had conducted some form of research instead of trusting blindly in the brand.nnI implore you to stay away from this company as a whole and if Europcar read this and want my photos and the metadata to prove my claims, please go ahead, you have my details on file

I've provided 5 stars for Europcar based 70% on their very helpful staff, and 30% for the vehicle.nnFrom the time that I picked up the vehicle which was very clean inside and out, until I dropped it back; the staff were outstanding.nnThe Kia Wheelchair Accessible vehicle was exceptional to drive and as a diesel, extremely fuel efficient; from memory 472 kms cost around $43.nnUnfortunately, as a disabled man with a powerchair I found the vehicle to be entirely different to how it is advertised screenshot attachednnIf the vehicle did actually have a 'lift' that in itself suggests some form of automation, however on the vehicle I had and all their other Wheelchair Accessible vehicles the 'ramp' feature is manual.nnThis means that if you are an independant disabled person, travelling alone, it is almost impossible for you to use this vehicle without assistance.nnLastly, every rental incurs a $500 deposit hold on your credit / debit card, so be prepared for that; you get it back in up to 3 days, which is reprehensible. Upon return of a vehicle, that deposit ought to be instantly returned...

DISGUSTING CAR RENTAL COMPANYnnBooked europcar through 3rd party platform, unclear info the car has 200kms limit driving even though paid 315 per day. Bought insurance of that platform too, but the europcar staff tried to sell another insurance 180/day when heard I drive to snow mountain. He also tried to charge 50 cents per km exceed 200kms, and ended up 25 cents when I was upset. He did not notice me there is a big dent on the car, which I couldnt see in the dark light when it was wet and parked agaisnt the wall on that side. Only found out when drove back hotel. Spent the whole morning tried to contact agent to sort out but unsuccessful as all their services and phone focusing on getting new booking.  I was in worry mode instead of enjoying my holiday. They runed my day until I found out the car was damage before with a helpful colleting staff. End up paid near 430 while the renting on paper was 315. Did not receive any email stated the exceeded kms have been charged. I have been renting cars from many agents before but never had this nightmare experience. Feel like being SCAMMED. The way you make money from customer is DISGUSTING, europcar. Never rent your car again!!!

I have used Europcar Melbourne Airport many times. I'd say my experience with them has been good most of the time. I found their cars generally had better conditions than other car rentals at Melbourne Airport. Of course there are rooms for improvements but I'm overall happy with their cars and service. I will update my review after each use. For now, i recommend them more than other companies at Melbourne Airport.

We liked the car and the gal at reception was very nice. We did not like the fact that the car we booked was given to someone else so we had to pay 500AUD more for an upgrade. Yea our flight arrived late but still! We felt scammed but what could we do.
