Wasn’t difficult locating the office. Despite the signage asking to scan and fill up some info to get a queue number, I was attended to midway through filling up the online form. This is because a senior staff opened up another counter seeing the busy office. Everything I need to know was well explained and all documents were paperless sent to my email. Could have clocked Krisflyer miles too if you book direct from them instead of a 3rd party site. Instruction to bring the car out was clear with signage and help around. Do consider Hertz.
I don’t like posting negative reviews but unfortunately visiting Hertz car rental was something of a shambles. We booked a car for a weeks rental over a month ago, we added booster seat to the policy and also an extra driver. Website was pretty straightforward to use for the booking but it was after that it became hard work. We was sent an email and text to check in early, here there there first problem, the link they send you takes ago 5-10 minutes just to take a picture of your drivers license and credit card, then just when you think it’s done, you have to send the link to the person who is going to be a named driver, then they have to take 5-10 minutes. With it saying you’d successfully checked in, you’d think it would be a case of popping to the car hire desk, swapping your card and doing a damage walk round with a member of staff, nope not the case, they didn’t have the child seat listed but did on my confirmation email booking, or the details of my named driver. Then the Man serving us, just took payment and sent me a link to sign to say I agreed with everything including a car diagram with no damage report. Then says on the contract you agreed with the pictures taken in my pre-rental inspection what inspection, I asked the man at the desk if we could do a walk round or if I could get a copy of the pictures from the pre-rental inspection, and to find out that I can if I sign the contract first. He then says he needs to speak to his manger, 40minutes later my gamy and myself are still sat in a tiny not very nice waiting room, only for him to come back and say he’s just taken the pictures now but can’t send them to me nAt this point my son is getting restless, and my wife and myself where getting frustrated, so I just signed it and left, we got to the car and off cause the a 20k 2023 car had stone chips, and a chipped windscreen. Oh the joy, won’t be coming back, and I’ll be looking for compensation for the way it was handled.nnOk update : we have just dropped the car off, and the staff at that end are brilliant, they where easy going, polite and easy to deal with. The gentleman that that did the hand back was super nice, and was easy to deal with. Just the interaction with him gave me some relief that Hertz isn’t a total shambles. He alone is a credit to the company and if he’s not a manager he need promoting and then he can educate the people at front of house.nnI’ll update again if I hear from hertznnOk so I’ve been patient, I emailed Hertz as they requested and give them all the information so they could investigate, they replied and said they will investigate and gave me a case number, and surprise surprise never heard anything else, seems like they couldn’t careless about negative reviews.nAvoid all Hertz rentals at all costs
Staff at pick up location were friendly and efficient. I had to wait around 45mins for my car to be ready, it was Grand Prix week so understand it’s busy. The drop off parking bays are a bit of a distance to the airport as right at the end of the parking garage - something to be mindful of if anyone has mobility issues or just really desperate to use the bathroom after a long drive.
Smoothest car hire experience! Quick pickup process, car cleaned spotless with a full tank of petrol and the requested child seat installed ready on pickup. Drop off process could not have been easier also, and bond has been refunded within days after drop off. Car hire experiences can always be so hit and miss, but I would absolutely not hesitate to use Hertz again in the future, great job team!!
Car was ready on arrival, we were told the keys were in it. We walked around for 5 mins looking for it as we were only told the colour!nnInterior windscreen and rear windows were 'foggy' and not been cleaned for some time. Carpet on passenger side had come away from the floor exposing the soundproofing and wiring. Seats were stained throughout the car.nnBoth the rear tyres were bald and un roadworthy, we found this out after losing the back end negotiating a corner and nearly spinning out.nnUnder the car rental code of practice and principals #2, point D, you have to 'provide a safe and roadworthy vehicle' which clearly it was not.nnIf I wasn't under time restraints and nowhere near a Hertz depot I would have returned the car immediately.nnMy wife phoned and informed Hertz of the issues, details were taken and to date, now a week later have not heard a thing from anyone.nnDisgraceful on every level!
