Fantastic experience with Ace Melbourne! They were the only company that didn’t charge a one-way fee if we wanted to return at Sydney. For Intl travellers you can book the shuttle from the airport at their website to avoid international call fees! The shuttle came reasonably fast, within 15-20 minutes, though I would recommend booking the shuttle in advance eg when collecting baggage at the airport. We also got a free upgrade to Toyota Camry Hybrid booked Corolla Hybrid. The staff were friendly and efficient. The vehicle was very new 40000km on the odometer,

There are a couple of important things to note. The rental office is located off site, requiring a shuttle from the airport. Despite closing at 5 pm 1 pm Saturday, the last shuttle for the day is 30 minutes before closure. You must call for shuttle service, and they stop answering the phones 30 minutes before closure. The team working at this location were incredibly kind when we finally arrived, but we missed two days with our vehicle due to holiday closure, costing hundreds of dollars in Uber rides and missing the first part of our excursion. Unfortunately, there was nothing Ace could do about refunding our reservation because we went through booking.com who are awful, cancelled our reservation, and only refunded $1k of the $1600. The staff at Ace were amazing and worked to get us a new reservation, in the vehicle type we requested, and back to our holiday.nWe've never been to Melbourne and not familiar with the airport. We provided our flight details and we're cutting it close...it would have been amazing if Ace or Booking.com would have called us to assist before shutting down for the holidays.

While the phone agent at Ace was less than helpful and left out some pretty important details, the staff at the Melbourne location completely turned things around for us.nWe didn’t realize the office closed at 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays—even though we had arranged a 3:30 pickup with the customer service agent over the phone. Because of that miscommunication, we missed getting on the road and couldn’t make it to our accommodation near the Great Ocean Road. Instead, we had to stay at an airport hotel, which cost us over $300 on top of the room we had already paid for as well as a great deal of anxiety.nNeedless to say, we weren’t feeling great about Ace at that point.nBut everything changed the moment we walked in and met Maha. She sincerely apologized for the situation and assured us she would make it right. She didn’t let us dwell on the negative—instead, she gently steered us toward a positive solution. We ended up with a complimentary upgrade and, more importantly, a completely different outlook.nThat interaction truly made a difference for us and set the tone for the rest of our trip.nMaha gets a five-star rating for customer service—and honestly, a ten-star rating as a human being.  Thank you Maha!nThe shuttle service was another highlight; our driver was timely, friendly and accommodating.nWe loved our car and ultimately had a very positive experience.

Dear Customer Service,nnI am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the car rental service provided by your company between April 3 and April 4, 2026.nnI was scheduled to travel from Sydney to Melbourne on April 3, 2026, and had made an advance booking for a rental vehicle with your company. However, due to a flight delay, I was unable to collect the vehicle at the scheduled time. Prior to boarding, I proactively contacted your staff and clearly explained the situation regarding the delay. At that time, your staff stated that they would assist in resolving the issue and would get back to me.nnHowever, upon arrival in Melbourne, I immediately contacted your company, only to find that all staff had already finished work for the day. I did not receive any response or follow-up arrangements from your company.nnOn the morning of April 4, 2026, at around 10:00 AM, I contacted your company again in an attempt to collect the vehicle, but was informed that no vehicles were available. This clearly indicates a failure to honor the original booking and demonstrates a disregard for contractual obligations and customer rights.nnAs a result of your company’s errors and irresponsible handling of the situation, I was forced to cancel my entire itinerary, which caused unnecessary financial loss and inconvenience.nnI am extremely dissatisfied with this matter and reserve all rights to pursue further action.
