My husband and I have been staying at the Brown's Boutique Hotel for a week now and we love it! We were married in the Queenstown area and the staff made us feel so special! We have one more week here and don't want to leave! The staff has been so generous, the breakfast has been delicious and the views are stunning. We prop open our balcony doors and overlook Queenstown and the gorgeous mountain views. We like that its a three minute walk to town, but far enough away that its peaceful and quiet. The bed is very comfortable and our room is kept clean and today daily. We'll definitely be staying again on our next visit!

My husband and I booked this property for a 2-day stay through the hotel’s website.  They advertised a package at a certain price which we booked.  We received the booking confirmation detailing our 2 nights and the total cost to be paid for our stay as per the price on their website. 

A few days later we received an email from Peter, who I assume is the owner saying that the package is now double the price and we need to understand this to confirm the booking.  We went back to him saying that was not the advertised price on their website or the booking confirmation we received.  His response: “I’m not arguing with you over this” and he became extremely rude and defensive quoting random figures that weren’t adding up, offering a ‘gesture of goodwill’ because we booked over Easter.  We didn’t book over Easter, we booked four weeks after Easter so fail to understand what he was offering except demanding for us to still pay the sudden huge price increase.  He clearly doesn’t have a clue what he is talking about, his behaviour was disgusting and businesses like these are an embarrassment for the New Zealand tourism industry.

We have previously stayed at many great Queenstown properties with lovely owners, this is not one of them.  Do yourself a favour, take your money elsewhere and you won’t regret it.

Overall are good. But It’s really too pricing, and once booked, you will be charged 1st night room rate.
