Used this site for a standard camper van spot.nnLovely, clean showers, toilets, and kitchen.nnThe kitchen is stocked with everything you need to use and even has a few DVDs and books to borrow.nnThere are plenty of bins to dispose of your rubbish, and all the facilities for restocking your camper when you're ready to leave, including a dump station, grey water waste disposal, and fresh water refill.nHighly recommend!
My experience was not positive. It was not what I was expecting for an expensive caravan site. There are no potable water spigots at the sites, no single person rates, squished in like sardines, and the dump station is tricky to get to for larger vehicles. The positive is that it is close to town and has a view of the mountains. I can't comment on the amenities as I didn't use them.
Campervan area is brutal, stuffed together like sardines. Bathroom facilities are not cleaned daily. Would not recommend but where else are you gonna go I guess, captive audience so no incentive to even provide a half decent experience.
Extremely expensive for what you get. Location is good, walking distance to the center of Queenstown, that’s probably what you pay for. It is just a big muddy parking lot, you’re very close to each other.nShowers and toilets were OK, but not very clean.nDon’t expect to cook a proper meal in the kitchen, the stoves do not heat up properly, so after half an hour we decided to get our own stove from the car. The kitchen/lounge is very cold and there is no atmosphere at all, just feels like a big school cafeteria.nBecause of the issue with the stoves in the kitchen, it took us a lot longer to make our breakfast. We we’re about to leave at 10:30am, when a staff member was checking if everyone had left. She was very rude to us, still had her headphones on when she was telling us that check out was at 10. We told her about the issue in the kitchen. Her only reply was that we should have told them about the kitchen, she did not apologise for anything. She said the spaces were needed for the next campers the whole campground was empty, it is low season.nThis is the only campground during our year in NZ that we have experienced this, no kiwi hospitality at all.
We stayed here for two nights. The property offers a multi-million dollar scenic view and is conveniently located near the city at an affordable price. I definitely recommend it.
