The room is spacious, door is digital lock via apps, aircond no remote, you must use the apps to contact reception for turning it on/off, kind of weird, the car parking is a huge headache for me this town. I must find free parking with 5min+ walking distance, take note if you are driving. Water dispenser available at lobby. You will hear some music from the Bar on Saturday night, I didn’t hear it Sunday night. But the room have smoke smell come from nowhere.
We stayed in a double bed room with Mountain View & a shared balcony! We absolutely loved it. We had our own bathroom & a small fridge! Everything was super clean & the staff was super friendly and helpfulnnOn the other side or the hostel is a bar, sometimes you can hear the bar in the evening but Queenstown is a city so that’s what you can expect - didn’t bother us at all!nnThank you for the amazing stay!nElisa!
I loved my stay at Nomads Queenstown. It was central to everything I needed and bonus of having a spectacular view from my dorm. I stayed in a female 4 dorm room which has a separate bathroom and toilet. There are bars in the laneway downstairs that have extremely LOUD music until 3 am which I was warned about prior to arrival. You will need ear plugs. !!!!nThe kitchen setup is large with plenty of room, heaps of fridge space and shelves or hooks for dry foods.nStaff are all lovely and very helpful with their own travel stories to share. I stayed here for the Queenstown Marathon and it was perfect. Thanks to everyone.
Terrible service, recommend staying anywhere else. Stayed here November 5th, 2025, under my friend Nina's original booking.nnOriginally checking was great but at that time I was given an option to download and app or not to access the front door after hours. I chose not to use the app because I was only staying one night, the front desk person told me no problem and that the doors would be locked but someone will be at the desk 24/7 to let me in, amd I would have to show a slip I got with a confirmation code. When I returnred to the hostel around midnight there were 4 or more employees sitting in the lobby chatting and I waited patiently to be let in. I tried typing my confirmation code into the key pad on the side just to see if it worked and no go. I saw other employees come and go from the desk while I tried to know lightly, no one even looked my way. Eventually I had to knock louder because there was no indication anyone would let me in. The guy that let me in berated me for not having the app and said it was the only way I should get in, I tried telling him that's not what I was told on check in, that I was given a choice and he didn't want to here it, it's like he wanted me to feel bad for knocking. I've worked at hostels while traveling and would never in my life talk to a guest the way he talked to me, even if they were in the wrong. Maybe the disconnect was that I wasn't supposed to be given a choice at check in, but still it was uncalled for treatment. I also had a friend in the same room that had come back earlier than me and he said he got similar treatment. Really soured our one night in Queenstown, stay far away from this place unless there's no other option
The location is great! However the place is really dirty and noisy. There was extremely loud thumping music from the bars across the street till 4am every night. It was so loud earplugs didn’t help at all - the whole bed and windows were vibrating. There was also very pungent smoke coming inside even with windows closed which made all our things smell really bad. The kitchen and bathrooms weren’t very clean. There was rotten food in the fridges etc. Also many things were broken/unavailable - the sauna was broken, water boiler didn’t work, we asked to rent towels but were told every day that they had none etc.
