A cool hotel with lots of potential. Lovely views. Amazing architecture. Super helpful and awesome staff. The downsides; it's age. The bathrooms, halls, and in room cabinets need a refresh. The ugly; we woke up with sore backs. Our bed was two smaller and sad mattresses pushed together. I get that getting larger mattresses into the rooms would be tricky, but foam mattresses have come a long way. Bathroom renovations and new mattresses would go a long way. The staff made the experience positive!
Needs to be dragged into this millennium. The reception area is nice but rest of the hotel is a bit of a rabbit warren. The 60s wood cabinetry in the room would be charming if the bathroom wasn’t in such bad shape with cracked sink and cracked toilet. If I wanted a filthy old bathroom with carpet in the sink area, I would have stayed in a backpackers. The rooms are large but too expensive for the quality of finish.
Great location and it was comfortable, just some niggly items not up to standard. When i booked, i asked for King, butnit had to singles, which they had to remake into asking for me.nnThe room was generous and simple. Decor was old and worn in some area.nnThe bathroom is small, with not a bench for a toilet bag, which was annoying. There was some detail missed in the cleaning, and the blinds had marks on them. The bed sheet had a stain that had been washed in.nnStaff were helpful, their housekeeping need to be better
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, everyone reception, kitchen, wait and concierge staff were all so very helpful, friendly, cheerful and welcoming from arrival to departure - even helping catch the bus to the airport - the concierge is such a wonderful service and a great team too.nEveryone made it so much easier and memorable - thank you team
Avoid like cancer. The rooms have NO noise control design AT ALL. If you booked this room, you will get to enjoy a full on sound show all day and night clearly hearing noises of everything: luggage rolling, people chatting, phone ringing, cars driving from outside literally like 5 meters away from your bed and corridor every other minute in the middle of the night and get woken up at 5AM in the morning. Staff service was bad, hotel declined to change rooms and refund us for the rest of stay knowing exactly what the issue was - I’m sure they’ve been receiving the same complaints from other guests. Not even trying. The attached pictures show how close the bed is to the sources of noises, just 5-10 meters away, all pictures taken within 3 minutes of time.
