Woolworths Dinsdale

For a company that makes millions each year, the amount os staff on tonight was rediculous. I felt for the poor checkout supervisor who was running back and forth between helping people at the self seerve checkouts, and the Lotto and online queries. Line of about 20 deep of people. My online order for 5.00-5.30 was not even started at 5.50 when I got to the store to check. I didn't get a call to say it wasn't going to be ready, but that is no fault of the staff there, that is the owners responsibility completely. Employ more staff, you make serious money I am sure. Your skeleton staff were amazing, but should not be put in that situation.

I always find dinsdale too swamped and I have to wait a long time for them to get my online order ready and I quiet often have to ring ahead of time to get them to bring my order out into lockers and their excuse is always that they are swamped. Time to use a different store for my online orders, we pay extra for the convenience but it's not convention in this store

Nostalgia took a beating yesterday when I thought I'd just pop into the Dinsdale Woolworths for a few items since I was up that way for appointments and this was my regular for 18 years. It's not something I'll do again anytime soon. Entering the complex, I was met by massive potholes along the drive through from the Tuhikaramea side. At the door I was greeted by a large display sign of the weeks specials but inside I was met by empty displays for specials items. THIS WAS AT 12 NOON on a MONDAY. If you can't be organised for a Monday??? Some staff were actually really in the way of shoppers as they were there with their wagons stocking the empty shelves at Midday! There were a flow of customers there, but not in such a volume as to excuse so much missing product. Final insult was no toilet paper in the loo. So who is responsible for upkeep of the entire site? For perspective, if you are a local and use that store.. take a trip out of Hams to Woolworths in surrounding towns to see what organisation and availability looks like. This is NOT a criticism of the staff - they were lovely, but management/owners certainly need to step up and improve standards to meet those currently maintained by other outlying Woolworths operators..

Shocked I got asked for ID for buying non-alcoholic drinks. Was in the normal drinks aisle in the supermarket. No warnings or anything that you would get asked for ID for non alcoholics. Didn’t contain any tracks of alcohol either so it was pretty much a fizzy drink but declined I’m 30 not 17.. seems ridiculous..

Very convenient location but often find myself traveling to other countdowns purely because the parking is a nightmare at this store and trying to exit can take a long time and be dangerous getting onto Whatawhata Road. Veggie section not the greatest either, but there is a very good organic and gluten free area conveniently next to the wine that is amazing.
