The Avonhead Tavern and One Good Horse Restaurant

The place is spacious with plenty of room, and parking is super easy. I also love that it stays open late. I happened to try their Thursday special — a $35 ribeye steak — and it was amazing. The steak was huge, cooked medium just as I ordered. The outside had a nice char, but the inside was tender and flavorful. I asked for the chips to be crispy, and they came out perfectly crunchy and delicious. I definitely want to go back and have it again!

Nice ambience. Game night so there were quite a number of people there to watch the match. We ordered our drinks but they took a long time to come and no one came to take our order for the food. When the waitress realized she was very apologetic, quickly got us our drinks and took our food order. The garlic bread was served quickly. Our mains came in good time. Taste wise the garlic bread and chowder are good. Find the pork ribs average and will not order that again in future.

An absolute must-visit! The food is simply superb, with standout dishes like the lamb shank, tender and full of rich flavor, the perfectly crisp squid, and the irresistibly crispy pork bites. Every bite is a delight!

Such a shame as its our local, but would only recommend having drinks there. All our meals were very over cooked, dark & very crispy. Except for the pan fried fish that was like rubber. Staff were friendly & meals were quick enough to arrive-just extremely overdone.

Not all bad place, but the food was bad. Ended up sending back 4 plates from the team but being honest we got fresh plates that was average but not under cooked etc. Service was good, the guys and girls was very nice. Order the steak but was still cold in the middle, and the salad had 3 hair in it which was not appealing, chips was still cold.nnOverall it's ok, I figured the chef had a bad day.
