The Avonhead Tavern and One Good Horse Restaurant

Nice ambience. Game night so there were quite a number of people there to watch the match. We ordered our drinks but they took a long time to come and no one came to take our order for the food. When the waitress realized she was very apologetic, quickly got us our drinks and took our food order. The garlic bread was served quickly. Our mains came in good time. Taste wise the garlic bread and chowder are good. Find the pork ribs average and will not order that again in future.

Not all bad place, but the food was bad. Ended up sending back 4 plates from the team but being honest we got fresh plates that was average but not under cooked etc. Service was good, the guys and girls was very nice. Order the steak but was still cold in the middle, and the salad had 3 hair in it which was not appealing, chips was still cold.nnOverall it's ok, I figured the chef had a bad day.

It was a great burger; the cauliflower was salty, and the chicken parmigiana and salad were okay. I hope they have condiments available, or maybe I didn't see them lol

Ordered the lamb salad. The salad was lovely,the lamb was absolutely foul. Very very fatty,one of those rolled shoulder lamb things which was horrible. The waitress noticed I'd left most of it,and I said it was very fatty. She did apologise,but nothing else. Still had to pay full price. Then when we went to pay for our two cocktails,the young man behind the bar tried to charge us $4 more per cocktail even though it was advertised very clearly that they were $12.nWe won't be back,we will stick to Montheiths at Avonhead from now on
