We are Malaysians and find the food here amazing perhaps even better than the ones in Malaysia and well priced. Portions are great and will get you full. Incredibly efficient...food comes out within 10 minutes...piping hot and full of flavour. Complimentary hot tea available too whereas this would be charged extra in other restaurants. Parking is available in front of the shops or in the housing area nearby. Tip: get here before 12pm to avoid the big lunch crowds, as the place does fill up quickly. Note they take NZ eftpos and cash but not foreign cards. Recommend the prawn noodles which has the richest broth...perfect for a cold day. You can customize your noodles too by asking for specific kinds flat noodles, vermicelli.
After reading great reviews decided to give it a go. Friendly and attentive service, delicious food and reasonable pricing. Many more yummy menu options to try, so we will definitely be returning :
Fabulous place to eat. We stopped in for lunch. I tried the rice, prawn, chicken & fish cake dish with silky egg sauce, No.1 on the rice menu. It was amazing, tasted great, huge plate full which my partner helped with. He had a noodle dish and really enjoyed that. Friendly service, food came out quickly. We loved Hawker & will definitely be back.
Sooooo good!nnThis restaurant left me wanting more. We ordered the mapo tofu and char kway teow which were both so delicious. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu as everything I see other people order looked so good!nnIt’s also super affordable here so you can order as much as you want!nnThis restaurant was also packed for lunch which is a rare thing to see in Christchurch so it is clearly a very loved food spot!
Food is undoubtfully amazing. My favourite is their char kway teow - very close to the authentic char kway teow you found in Singapore/Malaysia.nService was quick and $$ is very reasonable. The place is quiet tight, you might have to wait a little longer if you come around lunch/dinner time.
