Ancestral Restaurant at 35 Riccarton Road

I hear this place was good and it’s special was milk tea and the first time I tried the milk tea it was truly the best I have ever had. I have now been a regular customer as this is a great place to go. But still needs improvements. First is the customer service which is excellent but sometimes when the server makes a mistake and the chef needs to fix the order the chef gets very annoyed and frustrated as I have seen this happen many times. Second is the seats, cutlery and cups are quite dirty. But overall I really recommend coming here as it has the best milk tea and bubble milk tea in Christchurch, amazing food and fantastic customer service.

Good food, good price. The service wasn't quite good because they always had a busy time and difficult to talk to the waitress. Takes time to order and pay. Need to improve their customer service and system.

Marinated beef slices & cold chicken with chili peppercornif u like spicy extremely recommended. But this two are appetizer so have to order some other hot dishes or with rice, that will be good! Also nice and friendly staff too!

Regularly order bubble tea everytime we visit but tonight we decided to order online. Drinks came an hour late and did not taste what they were advertised. Both came watery and the HoneyDew MILK tea was missing it’s milk aspect of the drink. Tasted bitter despite adding extra sugar to the order. Taro milk tea tasted like there wasn’t any Taro in it all. All in all $25 for two drinks that came late and did not taste good. Had to bin both drinks, super super disappointing coming from Ancestral.

Caution!!!!!! Caution!!!!!! Caution!!!!!!nnnnBe cautious when parking here. I was clamped and fined $100 for allegedly parking in a reserved spot for Ancestral Lao Di Fang, though there were no clear signs, just two small cones. A lady from TOWMAN TOWING GROUP LIMITED demanded payment but refused to show ID. She informed me that she had observed my vehicle via CCTV and claimed that I had left the parking lot to dine at a different restaurant. The lady mentioned that only these two specific parking spaces in the entire lot were designated for Ancestral Lao Di Fang and claimed that this granted them the authority to clamp vehicles and issue fines.nnCheck other 1 star reviews here, you'll found many others had similar experiences. It feels like an extortion scheme between the restaurant and towing company. Avoid parking in this area
