Went here as a family group of six on Saturday night. Didn’t have a booking but staff were accommodating. Fortunately we got in before the rush as they were busy.nnWe all enjoyed our food. Ribs were incredibly tender.nnWould come back.
Went for lunch. Meals were lovely and a reasonable price.nDrinks were also a good price which was a surprise as ChCh can be very expensive for drinks especially wine.nWill most certainly return on our next visit to ChCh.
This was a good place for us to meet up. The menu was light but we all enjoyed the food. I'm still trying to get my head around Lasagne on chips Parking is a real issue so if you are a larger group you will struggle to find car parking close by unless there is somewhere I don't know about
Nice atmosphere, good menu, good drink prices. Definitely go on the Tuesday for the discounts.nnEdit 1: the menu here is great, the fish and chips was delightful & the steak sandwich was on point. I recommend the Doris plum pudding too.nnEdit 2: Came again, great menu, the crumble was amazing! And the prices are great!
My visit to Cranford Ale House left much to be desired, despite the promising start.nnOpting for the lamb shank, I was surprised when the meal took an unusually long 30 to 40 minutes to arrive, especially considering there was only one other dining patron present. Upon its arrival, the presentation was appealing, but the taste left much to be desired.nnThe lamb, typically known for its tender, fall-off-the-bone texture, was disappointingly tough, dry, and seemingly past its prime. It felt more like a battle to chew through the dry meat than a satisfying dining experience. The vegetables accompanying the dish were unevenly cooked, with some spots cold, raising suspicions of being frozen rather than freshly prepared. Additionally, the mashed potatoes had a pre-made quality to them, leaving me puzzled as to why the meal took so long to prepare.nnAt $30, one would expect a higher standard of quality and execution. It seems that perhaps the elderly and local patrons are the mainstay of this establishment, as the overall experience may not attract a wider audience.nnIn conclusion, while Cranford Ale House shows potential, my experience fell short of expectations. Improvement in both food quality and efficiency in service could elevate this establishment to better serve its patrons
