Afghan Restaurant

One of the best food experiences I have had in Christchurch. Totally worth the wait in the queue.nnFor the last several months I was planning to visit this place, but somehow I kept postponing it because I did not want to go alone. After moving to Christchurch, eating alone at restaurants sometimes felt a bit awkward for me, so I slowly reduced restaurant visits too.nnBut today I finally decided to go alone and I am really happy I did.nnThe food was amazing, portions were huge, and the whole experience felt very comforting. Honestly, after the food arrived, I completely forgot that I was sitting there alone. nnAnd I feel this is one of those places... once you go there, you just cannot stop going back again. nnDefinitely a place everyone should try at least once.

It was our very first time here after hearing all the hype from our friends who’ve tried this place. It did not disappoint, we were there 15 mins before opening and there was already a big queue. But we didn’t stay in the line for too long as we were dining in, we got the sour looks from some people there but if you would be served faster that way. Mind you, there are only limited tables and seats, so get in there as early as you can. Then, pay at the front and tell them how many diners with you. And then you will get your food shortly after.nnNow, the food…. OMG WORTH THE WAIT! Portion was huge and it was so delicious. I definitely recommend this to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet. Please don’t be discouraged with the outside look of the restaurant. It’s what’s the inside matters the most, which you will walk out of there with a happy tummy!nnGod bless Afghan Restaurant! We will be back again!

I can’t stop thinking about my experience at this Afghan restaurant on Lincoln Road! They have a fixed menu and will ask if you want to dine in or take away. The takeaway queue was long, and people were happily sitting and eating inside, so we decided to sit and enjoy our meal.nnThe lamb and chicken kebabs were perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and served with fragrant rice, fresh salad, and a delicious curry. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. On the way back home, we even packed some kebabs and salad to enjoy later they were just as good!nnWhat really made it special was the friendly and attentive staff. They made sure we had a great experience, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. If you’re in Christchurch and love hearty, authentic Afghan food, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be returning!

yummiest curry i’ve ever tried, everything was delicious and great value for money, we ordered six portion for six adults but could have gotten away with only 3-4 portions, we had sooo much leftover!! we got there early and only waited 30 minutes which is pretty standard for any takeaway, would totally recommend

We just had dinner at this restaurant.nWe found out the hard way that If you want to dine in you don’t have to queue, just grab a table then pay at the front then sit back down and the food came out almost instantly. Not many tables so be aware.nWhen I tried to pay they said that they don’t accept international cards, even a visa, only NZ card or cash. I didn’t know about that so wasn’t prepared. Luckily had just enough cash. The food was delicious and the serving was so generous . So please make time and come to this restaurant.
