I am surprised I haven’t written up any review for my most visited cafe/restaurant in the city.nnWe have been there hundreds times for coffee and dozens times for meals. Overall, great experiences except a handful times when they were too busy so ended up very long waiting time and below-average coffee and food.nnTheir takeaway coffee counter opens an hour before their normal hours that was always very handy.nSome of our favourites include:nCabin food: scones, eccles cakes and saladsnBreakfast: waffles and egg benenDinners: any entrees, fries and some of pastas, meaty pizzasnnEven though I love visiting them, their pizzas and pastas seemed not very consistent standards from our experiences that could be due to too busy ???nnTheir staff were always very nice and helpful .nnThe very last thing, if you visit them often, make sure register yourself as a member to get perks
10/10 Dining experience - Food and service excellent!!nWe were at The Birdwood on Sunday and had their new Pub Classics menu . My slow cooked lamb was Devine cooked to perfection as was the Roast Beef and veges pictured below. I highly recommend and can’t wait to go back to try more dishes from this menu.
The place was busy and well lit, nice and clean and the waitress’s were politennThe prawn cocktail was ok, nothing exciting and the were huge prawns, but as I’ve always said big isn’t always better…nWouldn’t get this againnnThe beef croquettes were the worst I’ve ever tried, the outside wasn’t crunchy and the filling wasn’t that exciting….nWouldn’t get this againnnThe Tutta Carne Pizza didn’t have much going for it, was oknWouldn’t get this again eithernnNow the potato skins TO DIE FOR!!!!nSo so good! the best thing we orderednnAll in all it was ok, nothing to blow your socks off and get excited aboutnBut it was quite expensive and I don’t think we will be back in a hurry
Stopped in briefly for a quick drink and some fries.nI had been told the fries were good and I wasn't disappointed.nHot chocolates weren't quite hot enough.nnWe were in a bit of a rush and let the staff know that we only had 20 mins. The person serving us took note and let us know that our order wouldn't take long.nEveryone else was friendly and seemed happy to be working there.nnA bit pricey, but would like to come back.nnThank you to the staff as they made a significant contribution to the experience.
Friendly staffs and delicious food, the pizza toppings are really fresh, me and my wife had a beautiful night
