Burger was decent. Nachos were interesting. Tortilla chips topped with Chilli soup, sour cream? And what tasted like sweet Chilli sauce. Not bad just not what I was expecting. Bruschetta was small portion and not as flavorful as I would expectbalsamic was just sweet, but still good.
First time here - very disappointed to find, on arrival, that a venue tagged as *dog-friendly* on google - and presumably trading on that point - doesn’t allow dogs inside. Politely moved outside, where it was 11 degrees, with no heating. This is Christchurch - any decent venue needs outdoor heating year-round if they expect customers to sit outside. Food was also pretty average, and service was polite but perfunctory. Honestly, had expected more.
Couldn't fault the service. Thank you Stephanie for a fabulous evening.nMeals a good size. Loved the fresh vegetables not over done.Everyone enjoyed what they had, children's menu available.nLovely courtyard. Great family experience.
One of the best pubs I’ve visited in a long time! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a great mix of locals and visitors. Staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they do. The food was far better than typical pub fare — the fish and chips were perfectly crisp, and the Sunday roast was spot-on. Excellent selection of beers on tap, including some great local brews. Whether you're stopping in for a quick pint or settling in for the evening, this place hits the mark. Highly recommended.
Have been here a few times and the most recent was a few months ago. I took my mother here for a meal before a movie in town as it is local to my workplace. My mum can be a bit of a picky eater but she absolutely raved about her meal here - she had the steak and said it was cooked perfectly for her well done.nnI had a chicken salad which was quite plain so wouldn't have that again. Next time I would probably get the steak.nnHave had pork roast and fish & chips here before which are good but nothing to rave about.nnThe place is great for a casual meal and atmosphere is pretty good for a pub as long as you sit in the dining area
