Lovely pub food.nI visited The Good Home for the first time and really enjoyed the food. The standouts were the fried chicken and the chips with cheese and gravy, both were packed with flavour and cooked well.nnThe calamari, unfortunately, was quite tough and chewy, even though we ate it fresh. Drinks were reasonably priced, and it was a lovely day to sit outside, which added to the experience.nnService was friendly, but a bit more attention would’ve been great. I would’ve happily ordered more drinks if checked on. Overall, I had a good time and look forward to trying more from the menu.

Absolutely outstanding place! 5 scale is not high enough. The service was amazing. We interacted with 3 staff and they all went above and beyond to cater for special dietary needs. Checking with chefs etc. I have allergies and went for my birthday with my partner. They were all so warm, caring and helpful and double checking everything. Will come again for sure and highly recommendn

The chicken was perfectly breaded—crisp on the outside yet tender and juicy within—topped with a generous blanket of melted mozzarella and a vibrant, tangy tomato sauce. Paired with golden fries and a fresh mixed‑greens salad, it struck just the right balance of comfort and brightness. Every bite was pure satisfaction.nnIce Cream SundaenFor dessert, I indulged in their signature ice cream sundae, and it did not disappoint. Creamy scoops of ice cream were drizzled with rich chocolate sauce, topped high with a cloud of whipped cream, a bright cherry, and the playful crunch of a pink wafer. The combination of textures and flavors was whimsical and utterly delicious.nnA special shout‑out to the staff for their warmth and efficiency—service was lightning‑fast without ever feeling rushed. Everyone else loved their meals. However, I found my fish greasy, and the panne cotta itself was bland, though the citrus sauce was very sweet and strong. Service was excellent and appreciated being somewhere where the music isn't so loud you can't hear those at the table talking.

My family and I have spent countless weekend brunches/lunches since they've opened 6~7 years ago? Pre and post children and COVID so witnessed the progression of their service standards from the very beginning til now. When they've first opened and for the first few years you couldn't ask for a better family restaurant 5 stars plus. But now maybe there's been a change in ownership or management possibly? the service standards dropped so much I won't bother wasting my time going back there. There's so many things they can't/won't do not unreasonable requests for a family restaurant like having sauces separately to wedges/chips which they use to before. Makes you uncomfortable even just wanting to 'ask' when you get a short abrupt answer back with a funny stare. Didn't bother ordering anything else there and the wedges ordered prior to the unfriendly service they've even had this 1 order botched without the sour cream and sauce. Not the place to go if you have kids or expect anything out of ordinary standard service.
