Been a few times with my 2 kids, surgical and medical. Parking lot is close and you get free parking. Nurses were good and there is a nice play room with heeps of stuff for the kids to do. Food was decent.nThanks team for helping my kids.
To all the doctors, nurses and support workers in in the kids first ED- from a mom who had two overnight admissions with two of my kids within a week’s span. One a suspected accident related issue and the other a medical issue. You all are superstars, doing your best and beyond tirelessly even in the middle of the night to make sure each and every child is taken care of. Your services are nothing short of legendary. With sincerity I can say both my children were attended and treated to the best care in the best possible duration. Thanks a million once again.
Here is the reality of this wonderful place, unless your child has an obvious issue like a broken bone, laceration or something of this sort, they will try absolutely everything to discharge your child instead of digging any deeper into the issue. They assume everyone without an obvious injury that they're there for a cold or flue. All the Doctors sucked and sucked even more once their clockout time got closer with the EXCEPTION of Dr Loana who was the only Dr that was bang on once our child's health deteriorated rapidly after discharging us 3 times and had to go to Starship hospital. Dr Loana your THE star that's shining bright in kids first ED and some of the nurses as the rest of them seemed like factory workers processing snotty kids to quickly send them out the door with a pamol.
Parents bring their babies and kids thinking they will be looked after quickly thats called emergency but the wait time is not helping at all no point of emergency 4 hours wait is not called emergency. Do appreciate the priority however 11 month old is rapid breathing and we saw kids elder who can cope up well and came after us was looked after first and kid under 1 year who have severe cough with rapid breathing have no priority. We do understand doctor and nurses are human not robots but they need to talk less and set right priority. GP are also no help
I was there on last Friday midnight with my 5 year old daughter due to sudden allergic reactions she had. Had to wait an hour for a Nurse to check her, the 3 more hours for a Doctor. Both of them were really friendly, polite and did their job to the best they could I believe. But the waiting times are ridiculous and the people in red uniformsmaybe attendants were not that friendly or care much about the patients. They didn't care about the pain our daughter was in or our emotional state at that time. What was important to them was their chit chat. Some serious management issues are there for higher authorities to address here. The amounts of tax we're paying for the government and the services we're receiving are not acceptable at all.
