After my most recent stay im gonna rate the place two stars, the pyschologist i dealt with was fair just shut up play the game dp youre time and ya out. Even asked me about the previous paranormal activity trauma i went thru which is massive of hillmorton. In the past it was always paranormal activity is not a real thing. If the staff who looked after me see this you were all great, psychologist this was what set me off things in the sky above the old nazareth house google earth... you know in there ya just doped up walking around like a zombie. Nothing other to do than sleep and be alone with your thoughts... not therapeutic at all.
i was here just a few weeks ago and stayed for about a month, one of the most relieving and calming spaces i’ve ever been in with the most wonderful nurses who are just amazing and wonderful occupational therapists who were always doing fun stuff with everyone. one of the most loving and supportive community and my time here has overall changed my life and actually given me direction, thank you to all the wonderful nurses at hillmorton nga kakano. i’ll always cherish my time there.
So far so good. Currently undergoing more psych evaluations, to finally get a diagnosis. My advice to anyone is to be as agreeable as possible and to try to dodge the case managers as their work load is insane and they will try to discharge you from services prematurely. They are also working in silos and with archaic systems so pays to be patient with them.
How many have to die before this place will take peoples mental distress seriously? They discharged an actively suicidal patient and then the absolute worst happens. How do the staff here sleep at night?
Avoid at all costs. You will be completely ignored and left to stare at a wall for 24 hours a day with your thoughts. It’s a truely miserable place where you come out worse than when you went in.
