Dear Team,nnI would like to raise a concern regarding my recent experience at the Awanui Labs Riccarton branch.nnI understand that patients with prior bookings may need to be prioritised. However, after waiting for nearly two hours without an appointment, it appeared that only booked patients were being consistently attended to, while others waiting onsite were not being managed fairly or updated properly.nnThe main concern is not the waiting time itself, but the lack of a proper system to consider and support walk-in patients accordingly. Many people waiting became frustrated due to the uncertainty and absence of clear communication regarding expected wait times.nnI kindly request that the branch review its queue management process and consider implementing a better system that balances both booked and walk-in patients more effectively.nnI hope this feedback will help improve the experience for all patients in the future.I am giving one star to post my review.nnKind regards,Aneesh Narayanankutty

Really disappointing experience.nnWe arrived about 10 minutes late, and I immediately apologised and explained that I had been struggling to find a parking spot, which is why she had to call us twice. Despite this, the older lady with the ponytail and glasses was rude and unfriendly from the moment we walked in.nnThings got worse when she couldn't find our details in the system. Instead of trying to help or explaining what the issue was, she spoke to us dismissively and made us feel like we were wasting her time. We were given no real explanation, no assistance, and were essentially sent away without any attempt to resolve the problem.nnFeeling confused, we went back to the Riccarton 24-Hour Clinic for help. The staff there were kind, professional, and genuinely willing to assist. They quickly realised that the clinic notes had never been sent to the laboratory, which was why our details couldn't be found in the first place. They explained everything clearly and even offered to do the blood test there instead.nnWhat makes this experience even more frustrating is that the issue was not caused by us, yet we were treated as though it was. The contrast between the service we received at the laboratory and the care we received at the Riccarton clinic was night and day.nnI honestly don't understand how someone with such poor people skills can be working in customer service. Everyone can have a bad day, but there is no excuse for speaking to patients disrespectfully and making them feel unwelcome when they are simply trying to access medical care.nnBased on our experience, I would recommend going elsewhere if you need a blood test. There are clearly places that value their patients and are willing to help when problems arise, rather than making them feel unwelcome and unsupported.

Her polite manner, calm voice, and respectful approach showed how much she truly cares about her patients.nPam was extremely patient and gentle throughout the entire process. She explained everything clearly and took the time to listen, never making me feel rushed. Her professionalism combined with her compassionate nature made a huge difference to my experience. I recently called Awanui Labs Riccarton to check if my test results had arrived, and I was extremely disappointed with the service. The customer service agent named Sam was very rude, raised her voice at me, and made the whole interaction unnecessarily stressful.nnAs a patient, I expect basic politeness and respect—especially when discussing something as important as health. This experience has left me feeling unheard and upset. Awanui Labs should seriously improve their customer service training to ensure patients are treated with care and professionalism.
