Awanui Labs (previously Canterbury SCL) - Riccarton

The nurse is good. However, they didn’t accept email form only accept paper form and didn’t give any notice about that. So I have to drive to warehouse to get the form printed and came back again. Not sure who made this policy, super bad experience.

Very unpleasant and incredibly unprofessional services.nnA few people I personally know also had lengthy, significant bruises from blood draws performed by a female nurse who resembled an Indian woman. The bruises were still semi-dark and somewhat uncomfortable after the seventh day.nnThis place is filled with amateur nurses. While the wait time is rubbish too.

Had two disappointing visits here. In my first visit, arm was bleeding after the blood test, and the plaster was soaked. The staff was rude with no smiles. The website mentions a 4.15 pm closing, so I arrived 15 minutes early, but there were no number cards, and nobody was at the reception. After a 10-minute wait, a staff member came and said they are closing after 5-minutes. If closing is at 4 pm, why advertise 4.15 pm on the website? Unpleasant staff and inconsistencies - wouldn't recommend this place at all.

Had a really positive experience here - staff were warm and professional. I was seen really quickly, the appointments system seems to work well.

2024: Awanui Labs, unlike competing laboratories, does not accept blood test forms via email. It would be positive if they improve their position on this, as a test form is not an accurate way to identify a patient - this is what an NZDL, RealMe, or passport is for.nPrint your form or this lab will waste your time.
